FLU JAB AND STATINS

Hi was reading the other day where it said that if you are taking cholesterol lowering

lowering medication like Simvastatin, it lowers the defences of the flu injection. Interesting , just about everyone with COPD has the flu injection, and I bet a big percentage of them also take statins !! Neo

I take statins started a few months ago never been told that about the flu jag and have COPD were did you get that information from

I also heard that. I asked my son if he had his flu jab. He had a liver transplant yrs. ago. So his immune system is depressed from the pills he takes.

Any way, he told me it wouldn't do any good because he's on Statins. Thats not good for people that really need the protection.

People need to check because it is not every statin that affects the jab....only some of them.

Statins are one of the many tabs I take. I did not see that anywhere but had it now. Did feel unwell for a week after and I know a few others have too. Fingers crossed.

Some time the mind boggles with all the medication we take, at time one medication must work against another one. And as you say you will never know !! Neo.

Well they don't cut inflammation.. so how confident should I be?
