Need some help.
I was wondering if anyone knows if Lisinopril can lower EGFR? I have a weird blood pressure problem in that my blood pressure goes very high only when I am standing up and walking around. Without meds it can go as high as 170/120 and is normally 140/110. But when I am seated, it can be absolutely normal

Metformin and anti-aging
I have been reading about Metformin as a possible anti-cancer and anti-aging drug. Is anyone taking this medication with this in mind? If so, what has been your experience? How is it best used, if at all? 56 Female in pretty good health. Have a 13 year old, still have a lot a head of me. ;) Thx

Obese T2 DM Vs Thin T2 DM
Are you Obese T2 or Thin and skinny T2?? I have been studying the Etiology & mechanism of Obese T2 Vs Thin/Skinny T2 since quite some time. I have accessed a lot of research papers/ studies on the subject. I find there is a lot of difference between the two and therefore the strategies to be followed

Low carb diets...???
I really need to find out more about this. A couple of days ago, I got my lab results back and they are clearly indicative of insulin resistance: fasting glucose 110 mg/dL (ref 70-105) and fasting insulin 18 uU/mL (ref 2.6-24.9; should be <5 according to several low carb forums I've visited). Anyway,

Labs back, would appreciate feedback!
So, I have had some labs back. I have been on Berberine 1500 mg daily (500x3) since 2015. Back then, it helped me lose 28 kilograms and have a normal BMI for the first time in years. I have since put it all back (the weight gain started after I was put on high doses of prednisolone last year - I took

Thyroid and other labs
I have been feeling hyperthyroid lately so have been decreasing Thyroid-S over several months, from 5 to 3 grains, without much symptom relief I might add. My latest labs from Sept 09 read as follows: TSH <0.01 mUI/L (0.35-4.5) free T4 ng/dL 0.7 (0.7-1.5) free T3 pg/mL 2.7 (1.6-3.2) I usually take Thyroid-S

T3 Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with an under active thyroid and Diabetes type 2. I'm currently taking Metformin and Levothyroxine but a friend has suggested I take T3 also. I cannot find it anyway so could somebody please suggest where I purchase this from or do I need to go back to the GP? Thanks

Immunotherapy (Keytruda) and COC protocal
Ladies, my immunotherapy starts next week. I am currently on COC protocal. I am taking mebendazole, metformin and statins. Have yet to add the antibiotic. I am wondering if I can continue the meds while on immunotherapy. I have also written to COC and await their reply. While on chemo my doc has asked

My daily drugs & drugish regimen
Metformin - 1,000mg time release - started this for pre-diabetes, it didn't seem to keep cancer from recurring OR maybe it kept the cancer from coming back worse - Metformin in cancer prevention and therapy Fenbendazole - 3x4gm weekly - Fenbendazole acts as a moderate microtubule destabilizing agent

Sudden drop in EGFR of 5 pts in 1 month no reason! Down to 38 from 43. Help!
Sudden ckd stage 3b egfr dropped drastically in past year, now in 1 month went from egfr of 43 to 38 creatinine 1.79 to 2.01. At the egfr 43 I took drastic measures tracking everything I ate and drank ( phosphorous, potassium, protein, calcium, etc) to guidelines for my stage, stuck with very low sodium

ADT Vacation/What PSA to Resume and Prostate Cancer Bipolar Therapy With Testosterone
My husband was diagnosed 6 months ago with stage 4- Gleason index 9, metastesized to spine and lymph nodes-low burden. Taking monthly Firmagon, Zytiga, Prednisone and Metformin. Alternative doc recommended taking a vacation from ADT, monitor PSA, Testosterone and resume when PSA is about 30. That

Moving forward with Stem Cell therapy
I've been stage five CKD for over a year now and have been told to "go get on dialysis and get on the transplant list as there's nothing more we can do for you". Although my health is otherwise good enough to get approved for a transplant, there's at least a seven year waiting list for a cadaver kidney

MEMORY LOSS, WAS IT CAUSED BY THE ESTROGEN PATCHES
Following a positive biopsy indicating that I had prostate cancer (3+4) in late 2013, I began a long ADT treatment protocol that included a combination of Lupron, Casodex, Avodart, Xgeva and Metformin until Februaru 2015. I then switched from Lupron to Estrogen Patches and continued the Avodart and Metformin

Update on Labs
As a result of some of the helpful comments from fellow warriors I began tracking the blood levels below in addition to my compulsive monthly focus on PSA. The oncologist has had me getting a comprehensive metabolic test every 2 weeks for the first 3 months on Zytiga to see how it affects the kidneys
