How do I choose between treatment for Parkinson's and Diabetes.
I am a Parkinson's patient with Type II diabetes. My Metformin treatment and Trulicity treatment for diabetes is believed to cause problems with my Parkinson's. It's a "catch 22". I also have neuropathy in my legs and feet caused by my diabetes. I cannot afford to stop treating either the Parkinson's

Metformin - Are there any contraindications or reasons not to take it?
Are there any material contraindications or reasons for prostate cancer patients not to take Metformin. Other than a few specific people getting idiosyncratic gastro intestinal upset, is there any material reason most of us should not be taking metformin?

Metformin might protect your testicles. Of course you might not want them protected!

Baby kicks
Hi, Is it normal for baby to be super active one day and next to nothing the next. I have gestational diabetes and take metformin and feel baby kicks less when I take 1000mg metformin in the evening. The next day baby will be less active. Anyone else had such an experience?

looking for pcos support! (new here)
Hey, everyone! I'm new here and I was advised to try and find folks with a similar experience to mine. I got diagnosed with PCOS after having exactly zero (0) periods until I was 21, and then only like... two after that? STAMPEDE will result in more data on estrogen patches and also data on metformin.
It is encouraging that the SOC opinions about estrogen patches for ADT, and the use of testosterone are changing. I was diagnosed just over 3 years ago so I wasn't following PCa trials and therapies before 2018. However, it seems that some progress is being made. Is this an accurate statement or wishful

Dapagliflozin
Following my Cardiology consult just before Christmas my cardiologist increased the dosage of Bisoprolol, changed my Simvastatin to an increased dose of Atorvastatin, but left my Ramipril as before. New addition to the regime is Dapagliflozin as I am borderline diabetic also. Do any of you take this

METFORMIN or BERBERINE? The Same? 1 HUGE Difference! [2021] Interesting Video
EDIT March 17, 2024:
Today somebody shared a link to a two year old post of mine about a report on Berberine being neurotoxic and taking it off of my stack. Within a few months I found other information on Berberine and, using my High School educated brain, decided that Berberine definitely needed

Thyroid results on combo T4/T3 (please, help)
Hi! I've been officially Hashi hypothyroid for a couple of years. Started my medication journey with levothyroxine (Euthyrox, Letrox), but every new dose would be helpful for just a couple of months, and then a dose increase would go. Last year I started with Prothyrid (Sanofi), a combo T4:T3=100:10

Metformin and Ruxolitinib for PV?
Hello, Happy New Year (almost) to everyone. Maybe 2022 bring us all a good year of health and happiness. Has anyone researched using Metformin and Ruxolitinib for Polycythemia Vera? Or spoken to a doctor about it? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5833553/ Listening to longevity expert

Metformin and Kidney stone risk
Something to think about if you take Metformin and have a kidney issue. I stumbled across an FDA investigation list and they are (or were) looking into Metformin because of kidney stones. I looked further and found some other articles. Here is one: https://icahn.mssm.edu/files/ISMMS/Assets/Departments

PCa-specific Survival after Radical Prostatectomy Is Improved by Metformin but not other Antidiabetic Drugs
New study from Finland below [1]. "Only postdiagnostic metformin use was associated with reduced risks of PCa death {53% reduction} and ADT initiation compared with nonusers." While Metformin users would be predominantly diabetic, it looks as though "nonusers" inxlude non-diabetics. "insulin and insulin
