New diagnosis and brain dump.
Bit of a long one but wanted to get my journey written out and have a bit of a brain dump. Recently been diagnosed. I have had stiff joints for many years. when originally referred to rheumatology 6-7 years ago, it was mostly in my larger joints, which I noticed when exercising as they would click.

Posterior tibialis tendonopathy
This is the official diagnosis from the physio at the GP surgery yesterday! The tendon supports the foot arch but is weak or damaged, so my arches are collapsing and the inner ankle bone is pressing on my running shoes, causing the pain and swelling. The other structures in my feet are compensating

I was diagnosed with this condition almost 3 years ago and initially advised to consider surgery (not urgent) which looking at the details, was for me quite scary, so with some

and occasional paracetamol help, I am coping.

Super Slow Resistance Training: 5 Exercises. One Set. Once a Week
One set of each of 5 exercises. Done very slowly to the point of complete failure in less than two minutes. And done no more often than once a week. Can it be that this is actually better and more effective for maintaining the highest level of muscle mass and strength compared to traditional resistance

Affected by Heat?
It's been 29c in the south east today and it has badly affected my pmr like last week (39c). Went shopping early as ok, but as it got hotter my hips got stiffer and stiffer. I did my physio exercises to strength the glutes early no problem. By mid afternoon I felt really stiff in the hips but by

Physio think it might be bursitis in my hip so need to rest it for a while and do exercises to strengthen muscles. So I’ll plump up the cushions for a week or two and enjoy reading all the posts on here to keep me updated

cool running today
up and out early (6-30 early for me🤣🤣). What a lovely morning for a little run. It had rained overnight and there was still drizzle in the air beautiful 🤩. Wasn’t doing a long run as going to see physio this morning re my hip. Off I trotted nice and slowly after a few warm up stretches and 5 minutes

patient Digital Portal letters
Good morning fellow spoonies! l don't know where else to turn so I'm hoping someone here might be able to help. I usually get my appointment letters through the patient digital portal and get a text notifying me that there's a new letter and I have to accept or decline the appointment. However

Is physical therapy effective for Functional Neurological Disorder?
Personally, I have found physical therapy to be quite ineffective as a treatment for my FND, which centers on gait and balance. I'd like to find out what other people have experienced. Has PT helped you a great deal, somewhat, or not at all? Thanks for your input.

Help/advice for the fatigue that comes with pain.
Hello, Just recently joined. I've suffered from pretty debilitating chronic pain for almost 13 years now. Coming up on the anniversary of my accident. Never an easy day on the calendar. I wouldn't say I have the energy to be desperate anymore, but I've tried everything. Two surgeries, the first
