Rib pain relating to hormones maybe?

Long story short, I've recently had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis and fibroids which I've had all my life and my first surgery being at 18 then 27 and now at 42 a hysterectomy. 3 years ago around the same time my symptoms began to spike I also developed a very painful area in my breast/rib, I went for all the usual tests and solutions: mammogram, xray, physio, chiropractor, acupuncture, shoulder specialist and nothing would help but towards the end there was a noticeable lump that all practitioners could feel and the slightest touch and I mean the smallest amount of pressure knocked me sick , one suggested having an ultra sound on it. At the same time this was going on I was preparing for surgery and put on prostap for 4 months, within days of my first injection the lump dissapered as did the pain,I went for ultrasound like a fraud and the doctor said make "this the last nail in the coffin" in other words stop moaning about it, I agreed as it had gone completely by then. Fast forward to post hysterectomy (ovaries left in) my ovaries are working again and the lump has come back with a vengeance, I can only assume it was hormonal to begin with, it's so painful the slightest touch or knock and it takes my breath away, has anyone any ideas what this is or has experience in the same kind of thing, I'm reluctant to go back the gp because no one can explain it. It's around the size of a 2 pence peice, about the 6th or 7th rib down on the right and pain starts about 2cm into the the breast from the sturnum, it doesn't hurt to breath like costochondritis and it feels like it's definitely on the rib. Thanks everyone.

Hi, I also suffer pain in the rib and can feel a slight swelling ,the discomfort is there all the time but specifically when I move or lay down or if anyone hugs me it hurts .I’m 47 and awaiting my 5th laparoscopy .The rib pain started with all the other symptoms back in the Autumn and I cannot get either Private or NHS consultants to listen to me, it’ is as if I don’t mention it .I’m not one for being shy on opening my mouth when I’m speaking to them ,even when they give you that clear look of what more do you want .My large colon is stuck to the pelvic brim and there is mass adhesions compressing the left ureter with a 2cm nodule ,which is causing swelling on the kidney, they said the anatomy is distorted and I’m waiting for a multidisciplinary team in next operation.I’m just thinking you might be on the right track in relating it to hormones ,I’m not on any Hormone treatment but the last year I have seen a dramatic change in my periods and the specialist said there was no active endometriosis, for me I would think I’m peri Menapause or already in it but I feel there is a link .I hope your doing ok .take care

Oh wow thank you so much for replying, I've searched and searched for answers but to no avail, your symptoms sound very similar to mine. I feel somewhat relieved although I wish you wasn't experiencing the additional pain on top of everything else you're going though. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and I wish you the very best going forward with your treatment, if I ever do get to the bottom of it I'll be sure to let you know. Ps I had a lot of things in the wrong place, organ prolapse, and a large fibroid on my bladder, my surgery went very well and I'm in a much better place, I sincerely hope you will have the same outcome. Take care, Hannah x

Thank you so much Hannah for your reply. It really is nice to have this forum and speak to people who are going through the same symptoms and similar experiences .I will breathe easier knowing my rib could be part of everything thats going on .I have been convinced it is.You would think the specialists would put two and two together and see it makes sense ,but until then I will continue to search too.I will do the same if I find anything at all I will definitely let you know. It sounds like you had a really tough time of it too,I’m really glad your operation worked well for you and I hope it continues to do so.

Take care
