Joint pain

Happy tears
Today when he saw me, hubby smacked his lips for a kiss and winked at me.The physio was there getting him to lift his arms and legs and wiggling his fingers and toes. She called him a flirt, but was thrilled with him.. He was mouthing I love you to me. They wheeled a tv in, picture was awful, they

RED February Week 2
Well, it would be fair to say that RED February is not going as anticipated. Like last year, my plan had been to use it as an opportunity to increase back to 10k in readiness for Monsal Trail 10k in early April. Unfortunately I have been suffering with a niggly piriformis since training for GSR last

Nerve pain in left leg.
Went to my Dr to get help with severe pain in left leg. He thinks it is a trapped nerve in my back, and referred my to the physio. As there is a long wait for the physio he prescribed amytriptiline to be taken at night. I took 1 and after a while started to get palpitations.Saw a different Dr today and

Any ideas?
Hi fellow runners/joggers/jeffers, I’m after some advice. I graduated Ct5k on 7/5/23. Since then I’ve continued mostly every other day running. I’ve decided to do the NRC 10k I’m on week 4, I’m still doing alternate days so resting as usual. For the past maybe 2/3 weeks I’ve noticed my left hip won

Revisiting the Zoledronic acid pros & cons
Hi folks, I was offered zoledronic acid two years ago and was so freaked out by possible side effects that I declined. At the time I was at a much lower dose of Pred and naively thought I would be off it by now, that my calcium absorption would return to normal and I'd be able to rebuild my bones naturally

Slipped/herniated disc rehab
Hey all. My first post on this one. Had an MRI last august after months of severe lower back pain. Turns out I had a large disc bulge in the lumbar area quite a few mm in length. The symptoms have seemed to lessen a lot. I had physio therapy for about a year, from Jan last year to December. I’ve

Hip Pain
Hi, I am 21 years old and have been suffering with Endometriosis for 10 years now (although I was diagnosed in 2021). I have been on Prostap injections and Tibolone HRT since July 2021 as previous to this I was wheelchair bound on 3 occasions due to the severity of the pain and nothing else worked. Prostap

Rasagiline/Azilect?
Hi ! My hwp (77) diagnosed 2017. But of course with hindsight symptoms manifested earlier. Started C/L last year : 25/100 @ 3 times a day. Azilect 1 mg once a day . Walking became a really serious problem a month ago. Partly because of ongoing "sciatica" but also freezing a few times a day. Two weeks

Physio update
Saw physio yesterday afternoon. He’s pleased with my progress. Thinks the hip pain is from my back injury from years ago so did some massage of the spine again as it seems to be working. My heel pain is Achilles tendinitis/ tendinopathy. I think that’s what he said 🤣. So he gave me some treatment and

A nice little run
I completed W1R3 this morning as I am back to the physio tomorrow and he wanted me to try a run walk before I saw him again. I managed the run quite easily certainly easier than I thought I would seeing as I haven’t run for nearly 6 weeks. My hip seems ok but my heel still hurts. So I’ll see what the

referral - why?
My rheumatologist referred me to an endocrinologist because like many others I was struggling a bit reducing. I was on 4mg of pred. Apparently my synacthen test showed a normal basal level and a post of 432 - suboptimal but near normal. However the endocrinologist said he was “unsure whether it would

pain in hip/back - ignored by docs
My cancer diagnosis started with hip/back pain, and yet I’m unable to get my primary care doctor, 2 urologists, my oncologist, a surgeon, nor my radiation oncologist to agree it has anything to do with my cancer (Gleason 9, prostate and pelvic lymph nodes). I went through physical therapy, an X-Ray

PMR vs Fibro - follow up to my post
Thanks for all the comments on my first post. It was very helpful. So I put in an e consult to make an appointment with doc for review of my PMR and pred dosage. I arrived at the surgery and discovered that I actually had an appointment with the physio, not the doc. So much for AI! 🙄 Anyway, we

Hello. My daughter has been diagnosed with this condition. Permanent pain is a feature. She also has arachnoiditis. Both are rare conditions (although they can go undiagnosed for years so not sure how really rare they are) I was hoping to connect with anyone who has similar issues. Also, specifically
