HiI have a history of back problems with a disc. But more recently joint problems. The physio thinks a lot is tied in to the perimenopause due to an increase in symptoms. The scan has showed an issue with a facet joint and degeneration. Can the menopause cause major issues with joints or inflame the situation. I also have knee pain and other issues with pain in general I have never experienced before. What can I do to support this before it gets worse?

Joint pain

I have knee osteoarthritis and a shredded meniscus (cartilage) shown by mri a few years ago. I also try to run slowly. I kept getting huge flares of knee pain and had to stop running every few weeks. Specialist said would be knee replacement and to stop running.
With a bit of research I found oestrogen helps cartilage repair and so started HRT. I also jeff rather than full out run. No instances of knee pain for 3 or 4 years since started this.
Thank you sorry to hear that and glad you are doing OK now and managed to find a way to manage this. I can't believe that all my new aches and pains are the menopause. The physio seems to think it's making my ongoing condition with my back=facet joints worse. I am on hrt but maybe need to review and explore other tests.
