Hi all, just popping in with an update and to ask all you lovely people for help again with my fundraising.

For those that don’t know me, I used to be a regular on here when my partner David had PSP, and pop in from time to time to try and help by passing on things I learnt whilst caring for him.

I’ve been given by the PSPA a place in the London Marathon this yeay to help raise funds, so I am asking for your help.

Training is a struggle, as from New Years Day I have had to start from scratch with being unable to run for the best part of two years with back problems, but physio is keeping me going so far!

So, if any of you wonderful people could possibly help me towards my target, that would be just simply wonderful.

I really want to do this to help future sufferers of PSP,

Thank you so much 😍

Yes, I must be stupid, but it seemed like if I am going to do it, why do it the easy way 😂

I applaud your determination. Physical Therapy has been a great help to me. My doctors started me on therapy before my official diagnosis, since I was having ataxia and trouble walking. I am down to therapy once a week working primarily on balance training and working with weights to strength my legs and core. They help me with stretching and evaluate my legs for muscle strength. My knowledge of running long distances but I know it is important to keep your muscles stretched to prevent cramps. Also if you have access to a gym or weight machine you might want to do leg exercises. If you know a therapist you might have that person do regular stretching of your legs. Also hydration is very important you must hydrate day before running preferably with plain water or an electrolyte drink such as pedialyte and be sure to stay hydrated during the run. Other wise that's all I can share with you. Let me know if you have any other questions and let us know how you do and remember you don't have to win just pace yourself to finish. Good luck.
