Best company for private thyroid tests in London?
Hi everyone, I'm looking to get some quite comprehensive thyroid tests done and would like to know the best company to go with that also includes the
phlebotomy
service (I don't think I'd be able to take the blood myself!)

(I have my CNA certification, CPR certification, ECG course completion, and my

Hydrea and kidney problems
I have Poycythemia vera, diagnosed five years ago, initially treated with
phlebotomy
alone. For two years I have been taking Hydrea also, and now discover from creatinine clearance rate that I have moderate renal insufficiency.

Treatment for PV in France
Apparently,
phlebotomy
is not done here for PV. Is this OK? I continue to take Aspirin. I am keeping well.

School
I'm in school for
phlebotomy
and when we have lectures about illnesses I freak out I can't handle it. My health anxiety is the worst. They talked about melanoma, and I started monitoring every little mole. Then menengitis, I freaked out for weeks thinking I'm going to get it.

Update on my recent zinc bloods going missing
When the lab noticed it, the
phlebotomy
dept was told, and according to their protocol, advised my GP practice that I needed to be recalled for a new test. The practice acknowledged receiving the call but does not recall being asked to contact me about a retest!

How can we trust the NHS
I recently attended my local hospital's
phlebotomy
clinic as my GP said he doesn't keep the special phials needed to test for zinc, and that they would probably have to search for them at the hospital as they are specialised and more expensive than the norm....

Genova is not offering the free phlebotomy service at their office anymore until further notice
Found out when called to book today. This is really bad news as it means an increase of £25 on top of existing costs to go into central london to have blood drawn there. Gutted. It was so handy and useful and not far from where i live.

urine tests for T3, T4 and Iodine and minerals
The tests are expensive enough without adding on
phlebotomy
fees. Thanks for your help.

I need to arrange for
phlebotomy
services as I've decided to go the private route and will be having the full thyroid profile through Genova. When would the best time to have blood taken?

How does thyroid hormone find its way into the brain?
We never see any measurement of thyroid hormone levels within the brain (understandably - not the sort of thing that can be done in two minutes in the
phlebotomy
unit). We end up relying on the subjective measure like how we feel.

Any good consultants/haematologist in London? Please help :)
Every single time I arrive at
phlebotomy
and they tell me that he hasn't booked me in so I then have to call his secretary or look for him around the hospital, sometimes I can't get hold of him I end up wasting my day for nothing and when I go to the appointment he tells me there was no point of coming

Does anyone else have APS with Lupus antibodies & Polycythemia?
After the
phlebotomy
, his blood pressure slowly started coming down. The doctor said that if the
phlebotomy
hadn't worked, they would have had to do a bone marrow test. At the same time, his testosterone levels were checked & his injections were reduced slightly because his levels were too high.
