We are on the brink of a new kind of medicine
As patients we worry about today and will we be better or worse tomorrow so we barely glimpse the broader medical dynamic that is remaking the very concept of medical care. There has never been a time like this in human history. Between 1750 and 1850 medical knowledge doubled. It doubled again by 1920

Had 3rd amniotic shot. Not a happy camper.
Hello fellow sufferers Well on December 4 I had a 3rd amniotic graph injection with botox minus the bladder installation. I’m supposed to get the bladder installation in January some time. I decided to do this because my husband and I were going on our honeymoon. I figured it has helped in the

TENS Machine and heart problems
I haven't used my TENS machine in a few years but my spine has got so bad I need it now. The instruction book says it shouldn't be used if you have heart disease. Does anyone use one after a heart attack? IT seems to focus more on an erratic heart beat like AF. I will askGP of course but can't even

Genicular nerve block
After having both knee replacements 2yrs ago. I'm in constant pain, it's now a neuropathic problem it seems so I'm considering the genicular nerve block in both knees. I'm hoping if it works i can finally ease up on all the painkillers i have to take. Has anyone had success with this type of treatment

Hi, I'm new here
I've been suffering with symptoms of IBS for many years, but was trying to deal with it on my own. I'm suffering from a very bad bout lasting over a month, which has forced me to be diagnosed, and has left me very weak and in continuous pain. To be honest, my faith in my Dr isn't very high atm, and I'm

Has DCFS knocked on your door?
Hi, Everyone. I haven't posted for a few weeks, but thought today would be a good day to talk to you about something I have been dealing with since September of last year. It doesn't seem that long, and yet it must be years that this has been going on. The incident that just won't go away. I must shine

I have had OA for about 10 years, it accelerated with the onset of menopause. The combination of lower back and fingers caused me to take early retirement coming up to 2 years ago. Just coming out of a really bad spell of a flare, have spent a few months thinking it was RA as had raised rheumatoid factor

Meningitis
My mum is at risk of meningitis and I’m afraid that if she doesn’t recover I will have to look after her and my severely autistic brother by myself. On Saturdays I have to go to my part time job and am still in school. Does ANYONE have ANY reassurance??

Decision made re shingles jab
Hi again. After reading all your helpful comments and having thought about it for days, I have just cancelled my shingles jab. On balance this is not the time to introduce further risks. Thanks everyone.

Buttocks Pain
I have had over 20 spinal injections to stop intense buttocks pain. None have worked. I even had a disk fusion of l5/s1, still no relief. I am having a nerve block at S3, which “may” finally solve his three year problem. I’ll let you know.
