Decision made re shingles jab

Hi again.

After reading all your helpful comments and having thought about it for days, I have just cancelled my shingles jab.

On balance this is not the time to introduce further risks.

I chose to have it. I had Chicken pox as an adult and child. Had flu jab and pneumonia jab as well. I have so many 'add=ons' since GCA diagnosis 13 years ago, and now Addison's too. I can't take that risk. Hope it works well for you. We are all different.

Oxford it’s so hard to know what to do. I also agonised about the flu shot and shingles shot. Like you I decided not to. But I think on balance I will have the flu shot next year. I am terrified about it already xxxx

I had the flu shot 3 days before I started on Pred. Within a week I had an awful flu like illness which lasted for three weeks. I am very wary of having another flu Jab while on pred. The patient info sheet for pred cautions about it, in its usual vague sort of way. The medics told me it was fine, as it may be for some...

Husband and I had shingles injection a few years ago. Doctor now wants us to have the newer version. Awaiting until they get it. No problems with the original ones.

I have had 3 flu vaccinations while on pred. No problems.

I'll have another think when I've got a bit more used to things.
