Difficulty being around kids during this journey?
I’ve also noticed myself being really judgemental about some of the
parenting
choices my friend makes and some difficult behaviour in the older child. I’m quite ashamed to be honest. It’s not who I am, I think I just find it really hard not to have my own child that I can raise how I want.

Parents who disagree with treatment
His father won't get him counseling, won't attend a
parenting
class to learn alternative means to discipline, won't change his diet, won't even read a book on ADHD to learn how to support him.

ADHD young ‘adulting’ center/workshops??
I’ve been doing my best at
parenting
my son with ADHD for 19 years. He has dropped out of college and is not working but just started taking his meds again.

Parenting
is a never-ending learning curve, and my parents did the best they could with the skillset and the experiences that they had at their disposal. I am grateful to them. I am not sure at what point individual support systems are supposed to manifest.

Systemic scleroderma and parenting young children
Hi everyone. I haven't received my diagnosis yet but I'm sure I will when I see a rheumatologist in 2 weeks. I'm quite convinced I have systemic scleroderma though I don't have any skin thickening yet. I've been struggling since my daughter was born 7 months ago, primarily with aching joints, especially

Book Recommendation For Parents of kids with ADHD
I highly recommend reading “Super-
parenting
for ADD” by Hallowell and Jenson. Hallowell’s strength-based approach has been a lifesaver for me personally (as the mom of an ADHD son). I love his podcasts as well.

W5R3 - Holy s**t, I cant breathe!
Now, here’s the thing about
parenting
, you need to get used to the idea that NOTHING will go the way you want it to.

Mom of 14 year old ball of energy
I'm also a counselor, but often feel alone in
parenting
as the community doesn't understand (often) his behaviors and my
parenting
style choices, and I have to have boundaries with clients. So although i offer support to families at work, when I'm at home i usually feel like I'm on an island.

You suffer the health consequences of
parenting
by parents who don't have time to think. They, especially my mother, were incredibly loving and I am lucky for that. But they buried their heads in the sand and had no advice to ready their child for adult life.

Help with 9 year old with ADHD
I have looked at so many pages looking for different
parenting
styles. Half the time I feel like I’m failing.

Autism ADHD 14 yr old gets under my skin
Psychological insight seems better
parenting
management with reward and privilege removal when refusing. However autism kicks in and it's a constant meltdown. She is 14yrs old. She responds to everyone else but me. I'm frustrated and ready to snap.

Sweet, Sensitive, and Out of Control
We also struggle with out 4 year old son who so far has only showed symptoms of ADHD; I struggle with
parenting
him without comparing him to our older son and feeling as if he has much more capability than his brother and should handle things better.

How do you cope with the long IVF waiting times?
I read six books on IVF, one on the emotional stress of infertility, and even one on
parenting
after infertility and one on adoption. I did a literature research on my physical issues. I have booked a private gynaecologist in my home country.

Can’t win
I’m thinking when my 15 year is i18 , then there will not be the expense and crap of “
parenting
time” and child support. I know I’m fat. (I wasn’t overweight before), and it’s not cute.
