Diabetes
I realise this is the weight-loss forum, but diabetes and obesity are inextricably linked, and we seem to have had quite a few posts on the subject lately. I was unable to respond to lucigret's tag on a closed thread, so herewith a few thoughts on the subject. 1) Back when my mum was a ward sister,

Tremendous thing is that it was already in Liz's
palliative
care
pack. Someone really did their homework. I sat with her in three two hour stints today. (Carer's look after yourselves too please..

Talking about death
As someone who was stage 4 and on
palliative
care
from diagnosis, I found it really helpful. It was so positive about
palliative
care
and hospices. Even verified that
palliative
care
can not only improve quality of life but also quantity of life.

Weight loss slow- I don’t think I’m doing it right
Hi all, I started at 202lbs back on 18th March and cut out pasta, rice, cakes, biscuits, beer, bread and have not had any of the above since. I have been doing what I think is a lchf diet being around 35g carbs a day. From being the worst at drinking water I’m now clearing 2.5ls a day. I only eat lunch

LCHF diet .
Home made pork scratching with salad. Only thing is I eat most of them before my wife made the salad. Chirpy on the outside and soft in the middle with perfect seasoning...best in the world.

Doing it right.
Their quality of life is much improved, and the
palliative
care
at home is normally far better then a nursing home where they are often left unattended for hours on end.

Consolidating and chipping away the miles
Knee niggles are being managed with ice, stretching and exercises (I’m a physio, cobbling together a plan despite respiratory and
palliative
care
being my field 😳), so taking it steady. I hope everyone is progressing well and staying safe in this cold snap 👍

Things are changing rapidly
I see my GP next week and hope to bring a Medical Oncologist and a
Palliative
Care
specialist on the team plus the government department who control home care services. New scans will be arranged and blood tests taken to see how fast things are moving.

My Experience With Melanoma
Shortly after I walked with a cane because of the pain, and at this time I went to
palliative
care
and my memory is hazy due to the pain medication but after a week or so of using a cane, I needed to use a wheelchair.

Issues resolved at last!
We now have
palliative
care
on standby, but not yet activated. We have some time left to share and Liz has asked me to read poetry to her on my visits. I have started writing a book based on research which I began when I was twenty-one and which I have continued throughout my whole life.
