Disagree with consultant's discharge for dad.
My main issue is that the consultant has decided to discharge him as a
palliative
care
patient which I didn't fully understand until today when they told me that he will go home for end of life care and not be discharged on any of his previous medication.

Mum was admitted to hospital yesterday with suspected UTI. Had two lots of antibiotics, high temp, high heart rate and has not woke up. I sat with her all day having left my young twins at home and panicking that I still have Xmas shopping to do. Trying to ensure they are not affected too much as they

Just introducing myself
I also have psychological support from my
palliative
care
team to help with my feelings about what is now a very, very short life. I veer between being obsessively active and fun-orientated (I am mercifully still on two legs at the moment) and utterly devastated, tearful, heartbroken and terrified.

Decompensated Liver/End stage Liver Disease
He was discharged last week for
palliative
care
in the community but came back into hospital 4 days later as he was vomiting and had black stools (diagnosed melena). He could barely eat when first admitted but now rarely eats and has had muscle weakness so is bedbound.

Finger on the pulse
Hello, I’m new to the concept of a LCHF diet. My husband is not a great lover of meat so we tend to eat a lot of fish and veggies. How do pulses fit into the program? We have been eating kidney beans, chickpeas, lentils and haricot beans etc but I’m wondering whether we should? I would appreciate any

Chemo Brain
Mom has had her 1st chemo treatment and then spent 13 days in
palliative
care
in hospital. We won’t have her mapping/markers back until new year. She is taking Tylenol 3 and gabapentin. She has linocane patch as well as marinol and a anti nausea patch behind her ear.

Role of dietary fibre on LCHF Diet
As followers of LCHF diet, we are sometimes concerned about reduced intake of dietary fibre. We take some supplements also to make-up the shortfall. Here is a presentation on the subject by Dr. Paul Mason, which I think may be of interest to group members following LCHF. https://youtu.be/xqUO4P9ADI0

HER MAJESTY'S DIET
Queen Elizabeth II is going to be 93 next month. Would you like to know one of the secrets of her excellent health and longevity? That is her diet! Her diet can be described broadly as LCHF. It is not by design but by default. In the main meals (Lunch and Dinner) , strictly NO STARCH - no pasta, rice

LCHF saves the planet
Following on from the posts by Mike and S11m, here's my take on the ecological value of LCHF. While my title might be hyperbole, a low-carb, high-fat diet could dramatically improve end-to-end farming efficiency and make the world a slightly nicer place. Unless the politicians get their teeth into it

Damn the Torpedoes Part 2. Impact of exercise on a low calorie, LCHF diet.
Generally speaking, the average woman needs 2000 calories; men 2300. For the sake of simplicity, we’ll just use 2300, which will include basal metabolic requirements (just living breathing, repairing, digesting etc) and basic everyday mundane activity, but excludes exercise. We need 2300, but are

Damn the Torpedoes Part 1. Introduction.
Ok folks, on the back of my previous post here’s my program for the coming two or three weeks. This was to have been one long post, but as there is a lot of ground to cover, I will break it up into more manageable chunks. But before we go there here’s a little background. I am 69 years old, weigh 176

"You can live a full and active life" and all of that is great....then I get to the last chapter and it inevitably end on the subject of
palliative
care
. Just really don't know where to go with all of this.

Help??
As ive been closely involved with 3 friends with terminal cancer, im wondering if this is like saying to a cancer patient, "their is nothing more we can do as a consultant so im passing you onto the Hospice
Palliative
Care
Team". Am I being Paranoid or is that what it means? 🤔
