Respiratory Therapy Student
Hi All, I have been a member of the forum for 8ish years. I have bronchiectasis and had a LLL (left lower lobe) resection in 2019. I am 48 years old. The past 3 years I have been studying to become a Respiratory Therapist (RT). In the US, RTs work in hospitals managing critical care patients on ventilators

is it a flare or just because I’m using crutches
I told the

this two days after the op and he said I’d be fine going back to five which was the dose I received in hospital . I’m in extreme pain now. It could be because of the crutches I need to use for six weeks, or it could be a flare. I don’t know what to do for the best.

Hello everyone, Having finally dropped from 5mg to 4.5mg I am now in my fourth week. I have no shoulder or arm pain and was beginning to feel like I’ve finally cracked the 5mg barrier(third time lucky). I’ve had PMR for 2years and 9 months. However, my legs feel in constant pain and I don’t feel

Hello, I wondered if anyone has had back pain when starting this drug? I started just over 2 weeks ago on one tablet in the evening. After about 3 days of nausea all was going well, then I started with a low dull back pain. After about a week this was more pronounced- even went to get checked out for

I'm 34 and have had endo symtoms since I was 11 when my periods started. Endo was suspected right away but I was told if I took birth control it would stop it from growing. Deep infiltrating endo was diagnosed earlier this year throughout my bowel and uterine ligaments and I'm having surgery in the spring. For

Back Pain Medication/Advice
For the past 6 months I have had very bad back pain which is impacting daily life. I have no idea what triggered it but my physio says she sees it all the time and it is degenerative disc disease. I have paid for a dozen physio sessions and several osteopath sessions which have not been helpful unfortunately

Painkillers stopped working
Hello everyone, I've had fibromyalgia since 2021 and it's full body. About a month ago I stopped taking Amytriptaline and Gabpacentin as they were acting more like depressants and did make me feel like taking my own life to escape my profound pain. A week after I stopped the prescribed medication.

All the guidance, including on NICE seems to point towards HC being an effective first line treatment but also that it's offered on an assumed diagnosis and that if it's effective in
pain
management
and bleeding they may decide not to further investigate.

Just confused
I have spent 8 months or so trying to figure out what on Earth is going on with my periods. I’ve had three scans and a couple of consultations. Friends of mine tell me they just take two paracetamol and sometimes use a hot water bottle and they’re ok. Where I generally can’t walk, take extremely hot

Interesting info
My husband had a dvt event a few weeks ago and had the usual response of heparin injections for 4 days, and put on apixaban. I commented to him that Apixaban will sort out the clot in his femoral vein .The AC nurse stopped me and said,no, Apixaban does not work on actual clots it prevents further ones

Total knee replacement - 6 weeks on
Hi Today is my 6 week anniversary of having my TKR on my right knee. I'm keen to start driving again and wondered if I need to get the go ahead from the physio first or what is the protocol? My understanding was that if you can do an emergency stop you can drive. I have an automatic car so I'll be

My doctor won't acknowledge PMR without inflammation markers in blood tests.
Repeated visits to doctor blood tests MRI now he won't refer me to rheumatologist says we must focus on
pain
management
. I begged him for prednisone, he flatly refuses. I had twenty five tablets in my cabinet of 5mg have taken them for five days.
