Painkillers with Prednisolone

I have some slight hip and shoulder pains that may or may not be caused by PMR, I am not sure how I can tell?

I have just got back down to 8mg of Prednisolne for the second time and intend to stay at 8mg until I return from holiday.

My question is;- I am off on holiday next week and think I need to take some painkillers with me just in case, is there a preferred one that does not need prescription please?

It is usually only opiod or high dose ibuprofen, paracetamol or large quantity packs that need a script. I use 1g paracetamol here - if I run out of prescribed I have to buy 500mg dose, Not that it makes much difference, I have to pay for them here anyway!

But more important is likely to be taking plenty of pred just in case!

Where are you off to?

Thank you for the info, I am off to St Lucia in the Carribean, I am sure they will have Chemists but think it best I take paracetamol from here

Enjoy! Only flown over there - been to Barbados and Antigua. Barbados was best as OH was working and we stayed with the research partner in his home so saw the REAL island.

If painkillers help the pain it's unlikely to be PMR... if they do nothing for pain, it probably is PMR... so have a selection of both...
