Home alone with AFib
I am a new to this forum as well as being new to dealing with AF. On this last trip to A&E, the cardiologist told me not to go to hospital unless the episode lasts more than 24 hours. As I am on my own due to the very recent sudden death of my husband, staying at home alone during what can be 12 hours

Anyone else been on diazepam?
Hey everyone As I posted a few days ago about being anxious I got signed off for three weeks sick and am taking diazepam 2mg to help me sleep each night. I've had two nights of decent sleep but I feel so rubbish the whole day after, drowsy, slow, uncoordinated and really can't be bothered to actually

Sedation for MRI
Are consultants justified in refusing heavy sedation for MRIs when patients are severely claustrophic? My neuro wants me to have a brain MRI but has only offered 4mg lorazepam as sedation. Levels of acceptable pain
After 2 years of taking prednisone with 2 different consultants and yoyoing around my latest consultant is trying to get me down to lower levels. I am currently tapering from 12.5 to 10 with 11.25 in between. Here in Spain the smallest tablet is 2.5mg so half is 1.25. I have once been at 5mg but after

Palliative care - medications and routine
While most of our forum is focused on treatment, I thought it would be helpful for others to post our palliative care routine. Our current treatment has made a huge difference and greatly improved quality of life. My dad declined very suddenly with PCa on July 17. He has a unique situation with daily

Daily struggle with anxiety
Hi everyone. I wanted to join this group and read all of your stories to know I’m not alone in this battle. I was diagnosed with anxiety a few years ago, and was dealing with it pretty well with taking lorazepam as needed (only during panic attacks) I knew after watching my mom die in front of me at

Need a listening ear
Not posted for a while as been feeling really bad, but need to let of steam and maybe get a bit of feedback. Feel so ill am convinced I am dying. My medication is limited to levothyroxine for hypothyroidism as I can't tolerate other medications, other than occasional paracetamol, diazepam or asprin

I am new here. Venlafaxine/prevention & lorazepam
Unsure wether to continue up on venlafaxine. I made small improvements on each upped dose but I had crying as side effects each time and more anxiety. Now on 150mgs of Venlafaxine & lorazepam. Since being on 150mgs hardly any improvement after 9 weeks just crying or nothing. I had nothing to

Anxiety and depression spiralling out of control I just don’t know what to do anymore
Hi Everyone, I guess I am writing on here because I don’t know how to speak to anyone else. I have struggled with anxiety and depression for years. I think some of it stems from having an emotionally abusive alcoholic father. But I tried to just move on from my past and get over it. Though it doesn’t

Muscle jerks when falling asleep
I have recently started to experience muscle jerks when my body is falling asleep. This is following a perfect storm of worse sleep while on holiday (I already have a disrupted cycle of sleep but it is regular), spike in my T (which I have had for approx 8 weeks and actually had been habituating well

Nerve pain and chronic gastric issues - HELP
Hi, I am 10 days post laparoscopy and actually in more pain than I was before it didn’t solve any of my problems and I am heartbroken. Ahh
I have had a fast heart rate for hours now it won’t slow down and it’s making me panic so it’s going even higher! Surely you can’t have palpitations for hours getting really scared and my family are just like calm down it’s probably panic but I haven’t been panicking really just been trying to ignore

It seems to be working
Well guess what, when Myhubby58 was in the delirium stage, the Hospice Nurse figured out it was the lorazepam that was making him have hallucinations. And now that she took him off of that, he is no longer having them.. Thank You Jesus.. Now they have him on dextamethazone, methadone, and oxycodene,

What a jump from week 3 to 4!!! I’d forgotten!!!
I’m sure I can’t remember there being such a jump!! I ran week 3 run3 on Saturday and was looking forward to week 4. It’s a while since I did it last and in my head I was thinking “ last week was run 1 1/2, then 3, then 1 1/2, then 3… that’s 9 mins. So this week will be run3, then 5, then 3..11 mins
