I was prescribed Dexedrine for my ADHD and resless legs. only need to take half of my regular script of dexamphetamibe but it worked for me on this I have to say. All i need to ask for now is tapentadol to help me sleep or diazepam. The zopiclone they always give me puts me to sleep too fast so i dont take it should i just take more?

Have you considered medical cannabis? There are some interesting case studies on ADHD and cannabis. It also helps with sleep.

Taking Zopiclone for extended periods of time is not good...check side effects. But what else is safe to take on a regular basis??

Hello GP Jen,

You asked if I have been prescribed Zopiclone; which I have. I started probably 10-15yrs ago, but I consulted my doctor & stopped taking it about 2yrs ago. I had to start taking a painkiller every night to calm down sciatica & my back ache. I'm 72yrs old & had a herniated lumber disc about 25yrs ago & my back has been a problem ever since. The painkiller is called Amitriptyline & the combination of both drugs put me in a stupour. I don't have a history of sleep walking but I only vaguely remember falling down the stairs in the middle of the night. I do remember waking up several hours later with blood, from a scalp wound all over my pillow. My wife took me to A&E to get get the wound stiched up.

Consequently I would not recommend taking Zopiclone & Amitriptyline together especially if there is a history of sleep walking.
