What a jump from week 3 to 4!!! I’d forgotten!!!

I’m sure I can’t remember there being such a jump!! I ran week 3 run3 on Saturday and was looking forward to week 4. It’s a while since I did it last and in my head I was thinking “ last week was run 1 1/2, then 3, then 1 1/2, then 3… that’s 9 mins. So this week will be run3, then 5, then 3..11 mins. Not too bad”. But it isn’t is it? It’s Run3 mins, then 5, then 3 again, then 5 again….16 mins running!!! Why is this so hard? Ive done this whole plan 3 times already AND jUJus Magic Plan 3 times too!!! But this morning I was dying!! 🤣🤣

I had got up happily and dressed and assembled my stuff and started walking when my daughter texted me to say “ I’m not running today, I’m still tired and my knees are still sore” so I thought she’d probably run this evening and I just kept going. And then I heard Laura telling me what this weeks runs were and it suddenly registered TWO lots of 3 mins AND TWO of 5!! No!!! 😮

Well I decided I’d just plod and even if I was barely running I could still do it. The first 3 was fine and then the 90 secs walking was ok and then the first 5 mins was quite hard but I did it and then next 3 mins were a struggle and then I could feel myself dreading that recovery walk ending. 🥴. “ I’ve run for a hour at a time over and over. Pull yourself together woman!!”

Luckily I took my own advice and kept going … just one foot in front of the other and counted my steps as I went …..because as Kimmy Shmidt says “ you can do anything for 30 seconds …. And then another 30 seconds” and she’s right!! I made it!! So glad to be walking home though. Yet I was feeling great again long before the end of the recovery walk and went for nice long walk with my poor achey son later too, picking blackberries. I drove us to nearer a flat bit so we could walk onto the Tarka Trail so that he didn’t hurt his back more by walking uphill ( it is uphill every way from our house) and then we pottered along for an hour before I drove us back again. I picked another big Tupperware tub full of blackberries and he pottered and rested on the low wall when he needed. He’d had enough by the time we got home though, and after lunch and his next lot of Diazepam, he was back upstairs for another nap.

Whereas I have washed, dried and frozen the blackberries, made a Frangipani tart, 12 little cakes, washed and dried a load of washing and pottered in the garden before putting the tea in and sitting down to write this. Always have more energy when I have run in the morning. 😁

Looking forward to Wednesday run now… Honest I am 🙄🤞

Yeah people warned me about wk 6 going back to intervals after week 5s 20 mins run and I didn’t have any issues with that. But this caught me out. But I’ve done it and I can do it again 😁
