Not yet diagnosed....AN
Hi, I'm 37 and woke up 3 weeks ago with complete hearing loss in 1 ear, severe tinnitus and vertigo. I've been in the slow process of having hearing tests at ENT which show almost complete deafness 😔 The vertigo seems to have subsided which I am thankful for but am just hoping it's not an AN so I

Vertigo and PD?
I found a 2021 study with this: Conclusion: Prodromal otological symptoms might be associated with a reduced risk of motor progression in PD. Anyone know how often vertigo is a sign of PD? Last few days I've had small bouts of vertigo. Without warning the room begins to swim. Or rather it rotates

New to PMR and hopefully its on its way out!
I started suffering bad neck stiffness and then back and eventually hip stiffness about 6 weeks ago (early March 2023). I'm 56 and a very keen cyclist (normally 8-12 hours of cycling a week), and so am not used to feeling like an invalid! I find cycling OK, although my legs feel very heavy, but walking

Effect of thyroid dysfunction on N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide levels: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Papers regarding the impact of inappropriate thyroid hormone levels keep coming out. It would be a miracle if endocrinologists showed any evidence of having read them. And incorporated the lessons into their practices. [i]

Tinnitus dismissed by GP
This is the second doctor in my practice I have seen.. I was told to contact Tinnitus UK as they might be able to offer advice. First doctor suggested ear drops and when I returned they gave me a prescription for more ear drops . When I explained the symptoms of Tinnitus I was told not to call it Tinnitus

Jaw pain
I have been having pain in my jaw and wondered if this could be another symptom of my RA I am due to have an ultrasound on the muscles but I also had a bad infection after toothe extraction and was taken off my meds as they are worried in case I get another infection as I ended up with sepsis.

Shaking when I stretch…
I’m curious if others with PA have ever experienced this symptom: when I wake up in the morning and stretch, my muscles seem to shake for a few moments, especially in my hands. It also happens to a lesser degree when I have a deep yawn. Subsequent to my PA diagnosis, I was diagnosed with hyperreflexia

Jaw Pain: UPDATE
So, I took everyone's advice and saw my doctor about the pain I have in my jaw. The good news is that it isn't GCA. It's TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder). I have started on gabapentin so hopefully, I will get better soon.

Had the contract MRI this week now waiting to hear back . First MRI in Nov22 said it was 10mm not sure what the contract MRI will show ? or what to expect next . I have had tinnitus for years and started to lose my hearing in one ear about 10 months ago, thought it was age but now know its AN. Not sure

Sleep Aid 2
Asked my PCP and Cardiologist for sleep aid recommendations and got these responses: PCP: "I would stick to things like melatonin and antihistamines to avoid complications with your arrythmia as most others are going to be sedatives which can adversely affect those." Cardiologist: "Over the counter

Had my Ent appointment
Hi everyone, I thought I would give a quick update as so many of you kindly responded to my previous post about my sudden hearing loss. I just got home from my Ent follow up after my hearing test and mri. He told me there is no tumour which is great news. Of course I’m thankful for this outcome

Visit to the audiologist
This forum is excellent. Any thoughts from anyone would be much appreciated. I was referred to hospital by my GP in 2018 following several bouts of unexplained deafness. I have had several ear irrigation treatments prior to hospital visits but GP surgery has stopped performing this. My first hospital
