Had a panic attack at school over my most recent tinnitus spike.
Hey people . To give a bit of context : I got a cold 4 days ago and since then my tinnitus has gotten worse and still hasn't improved. Ever since the spike began I have been walking on egg shells in order not to upset myself about the tinnitus but today I really gave into anxiety . Today at school everyone

Ears, Hearing aids and masks - Caution !!
Our ears are so useful, not just for hearing, and keeping our spectacles in place, and for me my single hearing aid rests on right one. An experimental operation killed nerve in left ear years ago. Now we have to wear masks, most of which (including NHS recommendation FFP3) are designed to also go

2 migraines in 2 days and severe tinnitus
Typing this before my vision completely goes. I've had a couple of stressful days and had to take half a Lorazepam to help me sleep for 2 nights in a row which is very unlike me. Is it the Betahistine? Should I come off it? Is it exacerbating the migraines? So fed up ππ

Feeling really down...
I have had tinnitus for about a month now. At first it was really bad and made me suicidal but after starting treatment for my sinusitis and getting my emotions in check it started improving and at some point it stopped bothering me. This state of wellbeing continues until yesterday when I got a head

7 Day Difference
For the first time in almost 3 years, I made the decision to accept some speaking engagements and used a local respite center. The decision was hard for me, but for my own mental health, I needed to get out and feel like me again. Caregivers guilt is real. Within 48 hours, mom became lethargic, non-responsive

Omg Prednisolone
I was diagnosed with PMR approx 18 months and for the last 6 weeks have been on 0mg Pred after following a very slow tapering plan ( advice given on this forum). I had a couple of set backs and had to increase the dose and start tapering again . I was very keen to get off the Pred but soon realised

Couple of tips.
My 1st step was a hearing test from Boots. This showed the hearing loss in my one ear. I took this result to GP. The second, I hadnt realised that caffine can cause balance problems. Try cutting out caffine for a couple of months to see if this helps. 3rdly if you have been sat down for a while, when

Ear wax removal
Evening everyone, I was, wondering if ear wax removal can make tinnitus worse. I've booked in for next week at Specsavers but keep wondering if it will make the T sound louder. It's loud enough and seems to have a mind of its own. Grateful for answers please ππ

Don't understand my test results!
Hi everyone. I was refused at blood doning last November due to low haemoglobin. So I've been trying to get my levels back up, through diet and at times iron pills. I've had another test but the results are puzzling because they refer to one thing that wasn't mentioned before. I've tried to Google

An 'AN' future?
I had a review of my deteriorating hearing today following my earlier hearing tests and an MRI at Addenbrooke's five weeks ago. Today was actually an appointment with the audiologist for review of my hearing aids but she kindly popped round to the medics to see what the state of play is with the MRI

Managing diabetes and help with tinnitus, hyperacusis, vertigo, et al
I'm 47 yr old and following a blood test I've been told I have diabetes type 2. Along with nausea, vertigo, spikes in tinnitus and increased noise sensitivity, I've been really tired. However, I had linked tiredness and the lack of energy due to getting too little sleep due to other symptoms. I hadn't

On top of everything else, Now I have covid19!
What a misery this has been. All the places PMR strikes is three times worse with covid. I don't want to take anymore prednisone so am trying aleve and that is helping with pain. I have never had anything like this in my life. Now I have lost my sense of smell and taste. I bought a large bag of the cinnamon

Hello!
Hello to my new community! I'm a 61-year-old female with Primary Progressive MS. I was diagnosed very late, age 57. Life as I knew it is over. With that said I have a question I don't think (neither does my neuro) is related to my disease. I am going to dive right in with a question regarding hearing

ENT referral plus a drug
Hi all. Me again. I posted the other day saying that the last 3 weeks with T have been dreadful. Yesterday I saw my GP here in Spain. She took a full history and examined inside my ears, which were clear. She has raised a petition, as they call it here, to get a consultation with an ENT specialist

Bad cold and tinnitus louder than ever
I've got a stinking cold and my tinnitus (which I've had 24/7 since March) is the loudest it's ever been and my ears are blocked making me feel dizzy too. Does anyone else find their T gets worse with a cold? I have also recently been diagnosed with vestibular migraine so having to deal with daily dizziness

Ent told me I have an infection. What does that mean for my tinnitus?
Went to an Ent a few hours ago. He told me I have some sort of infection and prescribed antibiotics. I went to him for the first time 5 days ago right when my tinnitus started and asked him if that is the cause but he didn't really eplain. Will the tinnitus subside once the infection is cleared?
