Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse Imaging
I saw a different consultant today. He was happy with my 17kg weight loss since 13th December. Some of this was enforced but more on that later. He didnt appear to be convinced totally that I have cirrhosis, which I am sure all those diagnosed would be ecstatic to hear. Yes my last fibroscan indicated

Son has ace but is badly constipated
Hiya, my son had the ace fitted Sept 2018 and his micky button was fitted Jan 19. He is currently in bed with bad constipation, his washout on Thursday was just water and just water Friday. He is just passing overflow into his pull up and last night it was up his back and I had to change his bed sheet

Cindy's Dance with Death
I was in a coma, due to peritonitis and sepsis 3x, for 35 days and on life support in ICU. My children were told to make funeral arrangements for me. I died and was revived twice. When they removed my ventilator, I regained consciousness. After a total hospital stay of 7 months and 4 surgeries

Histology Report
Well my histology report has come back indicating that the prime site for my mucinous cancer is the small intestine. It then spread to my left ovary which appeared to be the primary site on the CT scans? Obviously it wasn't. I am now being transferred from my breast/gyni oncologist to a bowel cancer

3 month check
Just had my 3 month check - 15 months post chemo. I have been very worried as I have constant stoma blockages and bloating. I’m currently awaiting a colonoscopy in the hope of stoma reversal. I was so worried it was my cancer back but my ca 125 has held steady at 11. It was 1261 on diagnosis. So relieved

Thriving!
From early October to last week - what a difference eh?! Matthew is thriving now that he has his stoma and he's piling on weight. He's now 7lbs 4oz - still miles behind his chunky brother who weighs a few pounds over a stone but he's getting there. I don't wish his journey on any of your babies but if

Colorectal surgeon
I have severe endometriosis and am under a specialist team, wondering can the bowel surgeon take charge of the whole process? He's really pushing me to have a hysterectomy saying he can't reverse my stoma without removing everything basically. I'm 32 and don't want to go through all that anytime soon

Things have turned a corner!
I'm very pleased to say that after a month in hospital which included Christmas Day, Matthew was discharged on the 28th December. He still has his stoma which we are managing at home and he weighs an almighty 5lbs 7oz which is huge for him! He just made it out of the teeny tiny clothes! He should have

I am on fluoxetine and have now been prescribed amitriptyline for pain relief, the fluoxetine is already helping me sleep better but as I have a stoma i'm worried the amitriptyline will make me too sleepy to wake if my stoma bag needs emptying. It's ok for the doctors to say try it but they are not the

I've just an MRI and

Not so great news for Matthew
Last time I posted, Thomas was at home and we were waiting for Matthew to follow. All Matthew needed to do was continue to feed and grow. The hospital were increasing his feeds more and more but quite aggressively and he began to not tolerate them. One Saturday morning in October, we received a phone
