Aortic Valve Replacement - The Call Up
I knew the surgeon wanted to operate this month and so I shouldn’t have been surprised when I found a text from my husband saying my surgeons PA had phoned to say there was a slot for my surgery next Tuesday and although he’d accepted on my behalf - he’s good like that 😉 - I still had to call back

Hi, I haven't been diagnosed with anything but female pelvic pain and vaginal spasms. i recived this from my c section! I've had it for almost 2yrs now. Opioids make me too sick so I smoke pot for pain, nausea, and appetite. I get lots of inflammation in my vagina. Does anyone know of any good strains

The Opioid Crisis - quite concerting!
As I’ve been reading through posts, I’m concerned that many of us fibro warriors are just prescribed highly addictive, liver&kidney damaging drugs, without being told more about the long term effects of heroin. Opioids are synthetic heroin. Morphine is heroin. Codeine is an opioid. Fentanyl is 50x stronger

Alcohol - Minimum unit pricing Wales.
Here is a completely new thread about minimal pricing of alcohol, within Great Britain. As you’ll all be aware, back in May 2018 Scotland introduced minimum pricing of alcohol. I have pointed out on this site before, how this was (in my opinion) a missed opportunity. Had this extra pricing been introduced

One for those who take warfarin
Evening All, Just a quickie, I recently treated an outbreak of athlete's foot with some Daktarin ointment which I bought over the counter. I did read the instructions found inside the box and learnt that cream as its an anti fungal can upset your INR. I self test and checked my INR a week after treatment

Complications with PACNS/ Cerebral Vasculitis
Was diagnosed with PACNS in 2015, biopsy proven, after several years of severe headaches, memory loss and fatigue, advised now in remission. Originally had Chemotherapy, steroid and Methotrexate, now only on the latter, but still experience symptoms. Would be interested to hear from anybody with Cerebral

Advice, please, on stopping apixaban for dental work
About three years ago I had to have dental treatment (scaling and root planing) that can involve some bleeding. I tried to get advice on whether or not to discontinue my warfarin (and if so, when, and when to resume) and found myself in the middle of a sort of three person pass-the-parcel game. GP said

Don't just want more pills with more side affects👎🏻 Feeling swamped 😩
Hi I care for my mum and at the moment I’m suffering debilitating back pain ,I can use nurofen patches that help best for someone in my situation as with opioids I’m not any use. The dr wants to put me on gabapentine as the patches are so expensive and they can’t prescribe them but I’m not keen on

Can anyone advise if ectopic heartbeats should be reported to a dentist if undergoing root canal/crown treatment. Just not sure and need to know for future reference

opioid induced hyperalgesia
Hey guys, So we've been in a weird lull, no new news yet, but scans upcoming which are causing us a lot of anxiety. Most recently my mom has been in constant pain and discomfort and I thought it might be the meds she has been on for so long. Turns out I was right. They have been making her feel worse

Beta-Endorphin (or make your own opioids at home)
With so much talk here on the forum about off-label drugs and supplements, I thought I would throw in another "miracle" substance you can make in your very own body. This is also a follow-on to a post of mine from a few months ago asking about how important rest was to fighting cancer, hoping to find

A question about pain in legs.
I've just read the post from jimandgil about pain in the groin and legs and didn't want to hijack his post so will start from scratch. I have been having severe pain in my legs very much like one would describe if one had the flu. I have had similar before and it's been a side effect of some medications

Opioids misuse and money
There was an interesting programme on BBC Radio 4 last night - File on 4, Opioids: A Painful Prescription. Here's a link to it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m00050s0 It raised loads of interesting topics, but I'd just like to reference one really - clinical trials and what happens afterwards. Dr

Taxol and fatigue
Hi All. I apologize if I already posted on this but the amount of fatigue I am experiencing on Taxol (3 weeks on 1 week off) is getting to be a lot. Most days I don’t feel as though I can get out of bed. My palliative care NP is thinking to change my pain meds over to methadone from opioids. She said
