Possible Nerve damage...what do I do?
Okay, so mind the long story, but I'm seriously lost. I went to get a blood draw to find out my blood allergies. A whole problem arised when the needle entered my arm, I felt immediate pain, a burning sensation, an electric shock down my arm, and weakness in the arm. It's almost 4 months down the line

The latest on my battle with sciatica
Hello, everybody, and just let me say I've been so encouraged by the many kind replies I've had to all my posts. After the failed MRI, my doctor prescribed REAL pain meds. I know all about the dangers, but damn, they do help with the pain. We try the MRI again tomorrow. I will get all doped up and give

Starting to take LDN for unbelievably severe anxiety depression and pain.
Want to know if anybody has taken this just for regular pain as in back pain and pain from arthritis in neck degenerative arthritis and anybody has taken it for anxiety and depression. How long did it take to help with the paint and did you initially have an increase in pain when it is blocking the opioid

MRI failure
I went for my MRI today. They told me to lie flat on my back and be still for 25 minutes. I cannot lie flat on my back for even 10 seconds. The pain is terrible. I just can't do it. I tried so hard, but I could not bear it. The nurses were very kind. They said you need a pain pill to do this. Which got

Managing pain .....or not!
Hi fellow PMR sufferers I have just finished reading a really interesting thread which got me thinking even more than the recent publicity about opioid addiction has done. That just got me thinking “uh oh, knee jerk reaction, there’s going to be a mad dash to cut everybody’s analgesia now”. Seems I

It wasn't easy, but I'm still here ...
My 7 day Coma and Multiple Organ failure was due to my choice to use Bourbon instead of Opioids for the pain of my 2nd broken back. My healing took 5 years due to homelessness after being released from the hospital. After my release from the hospital 3 weeks later, I could not afford hospice care,

Does being allergic to antibiotics act as a precursor to GCA ?
I am new to GCA and was most interested in the notes on antibiotics.I am 83, have been in excellent health until now, except that I found over the years I was allergic to 9 different antibiotics mainly given me for cystitis or dental treatment over the years. I had a TIA in Sept 2018 and was found to

Spring has sprung
Today I can hear birds chirping birds outside, Yesterday I heard an owl hooting. To be honest, I can hear cars travelling down the freeway a mile away, that kind of ruins the atmosphere, but “YOU” take the good with the not so good. That is life, our existence. Nothing is ever perfect tranquillity, so

Free dental treatment when pregnant 37 weeks
Hi everyone, I'm 37 weeks pregnant and just got my routine appointment to the dentist. Which was private before I got pregnant. But I have my free prescription certificate and MATB1 form. Just wondering can I have a free dental treatment from my dental practice where I am now? Or do I have to go elsewhere

Calling All USA Suffers This is Your Chance to Help Us All!
Hi, I know there are a number of people on here from the US and there is some very important legislation about to be made that could affect us all or at the very least those of us with Refractory RLS where nothing BUT opioids will help. Or even if this isn’t you and you know a fellow sufferer like this

Anticoagulants and dental work
Help! I’m having root planing, then 4 extractions, followed a few months later by 4 bone grafts and 4 implants. My periodontist wants me to ask the doctor whether any precautions need to be taken beforehand. I take Dabigatran Bisoprolol, Fleicanide, and an SSRI for anxiety. I haven’t had a cardiology

National Opioid Register USA
Dr John Winkleman at Massachusetts General Hospital is a world expert in RLS and has set up a National Opioid Register in the USA to study long term low dose opioid use for RLS. He has asked for more people to take part and you do not have to be based in the USA. If you are currently taking an opioid

Fear of what if.
Fear of what if, It can affect and I am sure does affect all of us at some stages and to various degrees. I lived for several years with frequent Trigeminal Neuralgia pain. I was scared that the surgery would be ineffective, so why bother. After my second or third overdose on opioids, I figured
