Don't just want more pills with more side affects👎🏻 Feeling swamped 😩

I care for my mum and at the moment I’m suffering debilitating back pain ,I can use nurofen patches that help best for someone in my situation as with opioids I’m not any use. The dr wants to put me on gabapentine as the patches are so expensive and they can’t prescribe them but I’m not keen on the idea of taking those , I’ve told her my endo specialist at the hospital has suggested muscular and nerve related but I haven’t had any actual tests (I also have lost faith in anything she diagnoses) the dr has told me it’s difficult to get an actual answer , I don’t think this is correct as my mum has scans and nerve tests , so why don’t they do that for me (prob trying to save money on referrals) .my question is does anyone have any suggestions/advice on pain relief/help with costs/route I should take ect x
