So we've been in a weird lull, no new news yet, but scans upcoming which are causing us a lot of anxiety. Most recently my mom has been in constant pain and discomfort and I thought it might be the meds she has been on for so long. Turns out I was right. They have been making her feel worse day to day. Yesterday we had a palliative care appointment and asked what our other options were. They said a fentanyl patch would be the next step, but didn't reccomend that. So they offered the option of medical marijuana. A dispensary just opened up somewhat close to us just a few weeks ago allowing that to be an option. We've tried some CBD products for her that seem to truly help, so I am beyond grateful for that to be our next plan of action. She can still get the relief she needs without the side effects of opioids and even without the psychoactive effects of marijuana. I'm so beyond grateful for her team of doctors once again. Now our next big hurdle is waiting to get scans done and see what they show.
Hoping and praying for the best!

It can be so comforting when you have a great team of doctors to help navigate through the disease and all the issues that go with treatment. Hopefully the medical marijuana will help relieve her pain and make her more comfortable. Good luck on the upcoming scans. My thoughts are with you.
I'm very relieved with you to hear that the medical marijuana is producing a robust a assistance to her and that the fentanyl can be in reserve. Was she able to come off all the opioids?
Scanxiety is a real deal and I hope you are both using your resources as best you can to
"wait". Wayne just left to go get his first set of scans since the TIL intervention and we meet with the study doc tomorrow for results. We are trying to keep our expectations low since this is pretty early for seeing anything. He returns again in 6 weeks which will be a better indicator apparently.
So glad to hear that the Cbd products are working on your mother. I know that one day we will be tuning to those, so it is nice to hear from as many people as possible that they work. Good luck on scan day, praying for good results.
