can anyone translate the cardio speak into everyday English?
I am a 3 year Long Covid sufferer still having problems with BP, HR , breathlessness and lack of sense of smell… I am on 5 BP drugs (amlodipine, bisoprolol, doxazosin, indapamide and losartan ) and had two ECGs, 1 echocardiogram and 2 X-rays. Although I was referred to a cardio over a year ago never

Symptom Help
Morning everyone, I don’t want to sound rude, but before everyone jumps on and asks what my tests results have been lately I am waiting for a copy of them as they do not show on my hospital app. i am just posting to see if anyone has ever experienced anything similar as I am becoming extremely annoyed

Clearblue digital....
Hello, Does anyone here have experience with the clearblue digital? I am 6dp5dt, and it is showing 1-2 weeks, but because i have had 2 chemicals, i am worried this is just another one. I am regretting doing a urine test , my hcg blood test is on Wednesday.

is HCG monitoring needed ?
hello I had a positive pregnancy test yesterday (from euploid frozen embryo transfer by embryo donor) and an initial HCG test with a level of 410 which the nurse said is very good. I am now unclear about whether I need to keep monitoring HCG levels like most of my friends did when they went through ivf

Ectopics one after the other
Hi there, I hope it's ok to join? I've posted on here before on the British Heart Foundation but I wondered if anyone here could also help me. Very brief history, I am female, aged 47 and perimenopausal (on HRT). I started having palpitations, ectopic beats around 2 years ago and had a suspected SVT

Update on update GP visit re: Tachycardia
Went to my GP three weeks ago because my heart rate was above 100 while resting usually 115 bpm or less but above 100. He prescribed Bisoprolol 1.25mg once a day and I've been taking it ever since. Had a follow up appointment at my GP today and when he took my heart rate it was 100. So he's increased

Normal
a silly question I expect but nobody talks to me. I recently had a stress MRI ( with the chemical injected) which showed that my EF had improved from 30 to 50 with. ‘Good’ function. I got the letter from the cardiologist telling me this. Then I was called for an ECG as there were some concerns about

Statins and blood pressure meds
Just had an ecg at doctors that apparently needs to be repeated along with a referral for a heart scan. I have had statins prescribed the last two years or so and have never been keen to take them considering the advice on this forum. Doctor insistent that I start them again along with blood pressure

ecg tips
Are there any tutorials on how to read an ecg? Apple Watch doesn’t check for heart attacks but what does it check for besides atrial fibrillation? I’d love to know what all the squiggles mean! Thanks

Viral Myocarditis
anyone had something similar? My anxiety is all over the place! I am wondering if anyone flew this close to diagnosis. 16 May I woke up with a tight shoulder, jaw, arm, couldn’t breathe, sweating, felt unable to walk. Eventually I was admitted to hospital for 2 days with abnormal BNP levels (250 -

Well, here I am
Hello everyone! So I find myself here after 55 years of walking about with an ASD totally unaware of it. It turns out the heart murmur mentioned in a routine medical in my twenties wasn’t quite so innocent. I had a day of feeling tired, then persistent palpitations that were stopping me sleeping. When

An interesting thought
I have had Afib paroxysmal on and off for 10 years. I now take 2.5 mg Bisoprolol each morning and have since had no Afib attacks or wobbles. However, my Apple watch always says I have Afib, and any time I have an ECG it says I have Afib. Yet I appear fit as a flea, can do manual jobs and work, etc

HCG tests where?
I see people posting the HCG tests every few days. Is that done by the NHS? Is it something private or you can do at home? in any case where do you book the tests? Thanks

Hospital update
hi all Had my first hospital assessment this afternoon but the Registrar said I wasn’t typical of Angina symptoms. ECG was ok but she’s sending me for an echocardiogram and ct scan to be sure. She did wonder if I had a lung problem due to being an ex smoker (only for 2 months) and having had radiotherapy
