Can 'permanent atrial fibrillation' be a misdiagnosis?
I have had paroxysmal AF since 1995 and taking sotalol (beta blocker) led a fairly normal life until 2020, when I suffered an ischaemic stroke, blamed on AF. Recently both my doctor and my cardiologist have told me I have permanent AF although there are long periods, such as this afternoon, when my

An interesting paper on vitamin D. I recommend reading the conclusion - not just the abstract. [i]

Low HCG 31
Hi everyone, I've had a very low hcg of 31 9 days post day 5 blastocyst transfer. Very mildly positive urine pregnancy test. My clinic wants me to continue the meds for 7 days. Feels like it will be a poor outcome with such a low reading. Has anyone got any experience of a low reading like this? Thanks

Confused with Beta results 🤯
Morning all, I had a Beta HCG done yesterday and it was 114535 and said 5-6 weeks. Yet on line it read 7weeks. So confusing. I’m assuming you go by implantation day. Stupid question I know 🥰

The importance of speaking to the right person & being persistent.
Well I went back into AFib 9 days after CV. Tachycardia, breathless ,light headed. I phoned the Arrythmia nurses number & was told it is a shame it didn't work but to get my Gp to do an ECG & send it to email. They would look at it & go from there.Probably decide to do a 24 monitor & see me in clinic.Waiting

Blood test result is negative. Help needed with next steps.
Today was my OTD and it came negative. Wondering what are the questions I should ask my doctor in my follow up meeting with him? Some more details: I am 45 yo .Used donor eggs for this cycle. HCG number from the blood test is <1. What does that mean exactly . Will there be any risk in future cycle

***Sensitive*** Miracle natural BFP
I had my third miscarriage on 3rd March, then my period returned on 28th March. Yesterday I did a First Response pregnancy test and it was positive! I ran to my clinic for blood test. We just moved our last 2 blastocysts from the NHS to the private clinic and I was due a double transfer in May/June.

So afraid
My partner possibly has AF. He’s 58, fit, normal guy. He has had high blood pressure for the past 8 years & takes ramapril which has never really brought the BP down to a normal level. Through a medical some years ago it was discovered that he had an abnormal T wave but not signs of anything else & no

Not great update
My blood pressure went sky high after cleaning my upstairs wouldn't come down. I have never had a problem. So I called ambulance went to hospital. Guess my EKG had a blip they weren't too concerned but got worse so they suggested I stay and have a stress test. They took a lot if blood. One good thing

Follow ups at local hospital after stent
Hi I had a stent fitted at St Thomas' London. Its been 6 months. I've had a telephone appointment with the cardiology team since. They have now booked me a ecg at St Thomas. I was wonder if anyone has transferred their care back to their local hospital. It's a long train journey to go just for an ecg

Ectopic Beats- Everyday, All day.
Hi, I’ve been experiencing ectopic beats everyday all day since January! I’ve been to A&E twice and had an ecg done which picked up the ectopic beat but there doesn’t seem to be any concern. I’ve gone back to the GP who has now referred me to a cardiologist but my appointment is not until 25th April.

HCG doing weird things - help?!
Looking for some advice, or to see if anyone has had a similar experience. Absolutely going out of my mind here 😔 We had a 5 day transfer from ICSI on the 28th March (so 3 weeks ago). I got a positive at 9dpt, but started bleeding and cramping the same day. Clinic increased my progesterone, and told

Swelling of scrotum
My husbands scrotum seems to swell more of an evening , should I be worried . Also his legs seem to be a little harder but no indentations . Should I be worried?
Hi folks, I have had Atrial Fibrillation since 2009. I had my third Ablation in 2019 and although I am still in Atrial Fibrillation my symptoms are controlled with medication and I have been comfortable. Over the last couple of months, I have attended the GP with breathlessness, and generalised weakness

Pvcs all day and chest discomfort
Hi I am a 50yr old female and have had svt and ectopic beats for the last almost thirty years. My ectopic beats are all day every day and are caused by changes in air for example the wind outside windows that are open and steam from a pan or kettle. I have found them worse now than they have ever been
