Carbo Meltdown
I see that PARP inhibitors (
olaparib
) are being used in CUH but not sure about that, as I know it used when BRCA gene is involved & this does apply in my case. Other times it is used I know. So survived another day ; barely, and feeling so much better today.

Sadly its back
He also mentioned I would be an ideal candidate for
Olaparib
, the parp inhibitor, if it had been approved for use in the UK, however he did mention a trial or a compassionate application to the NHS drugs fund. I will have to find out more about these later.

The Cancer Drugs Fund review results
Olaparib
for maintenance treatment of women with a mutation of their BRCA gene was withdrawn from the process and is therefore unavailable. It is important to note that these changes are to implemented in March, and that women currently on treatment will be able to complete the planned course.

IN CASE THIS IS OF INTEREST TO ANYONE.
Olaparib
, as one example, has shown single-agent response rates ranging from 28% to 41%, depending on dose and BRCA status.

I THOUGHT THIS MAY BE OF INTEREST.
The trial compared the activity of the combination of the drug
olaparib
, which blocks DNA repair, and the blood vessel inhibitor drug cediranib, vs.
olaparib
alone.

Maintenance therapies?
The other thing that seems to be quoted is PARP inhibitors, specifically
Olaparib
. Is anything routinely offered, and does anyone have any experience of whether they work? Is there anything else? Should I be asking for anything at all, and if so, what?
