Olaparib

Just wondering if anyone has experience with olaparib? I now have metastases in my liver as well as bones. I started carboplatin chemo last week after failed docetaxel and carparvotaxel treatments. Olaparib has been mentioned as a possible treatment.

We found out that she is HRD+ (not BRCA) so will be being put on Olaparib + Bev. Has anyone had this maintenance - how has it worked for you? Thanks :)

., one cycle of carboplatin (couldn't tolerate paclitaxel) and now on Avastin i/v and Olaparib. CA 9, which is fantastic. Side effects are just destroying me. I am 80, the Olaparib goes through to mid June 2026 and the Avastin finishes at the end of this year.

Lots of info I know but would love to know if anyone has heard of or had experience with Olaparib.

In addition, olaparib offers decreased hypertension when superimposed on ADT + abiraterone acetate + prednisone for mCRPC treatment after prior androgen deprivation from mHSPC therapy.

Due to restart chemo Monday, then due to BRCA gene will be on olaparib. I really struggle mentally with this diagnosis and have many times wondered what is the point of all of this when being stage 4 it’s just going to keep coming back and back.

I am off the Avastin and the Olaparib. The side effects were growing daily. Now Watch and wait. I am so relieved. Two nights running, no sweats, no nightmares or vivid dreams, eagerly awaiting improvement in my ability to taste food and some more energy.

I received first line chemo + Avastin, interval, suboptimal surgery then commenced Olaparib. Avastin continued for the permitted time and Olaparib kept me progression free until July 2024. My oncologist offered chemo (Carbo/Caelyx) as my next option.

2️⃣are there any known side effects of olaparib after 2 years of use? It took me 4 months to adjust to it and I am on a reduced dose. But not aware if there is any stated long term side effect of the drug.

Hello all, Anyone know how long it take for Olaparib ro lower PSA? All I can find is that it takes 90 days to start working. Thanks

He has received 2 treatments with Lutetium accompanied by Olaparib. But as mentioned in the beginning of the post his markers are going up still and he is generally feeling unwell.

My Avastin infusions finished last month and I’m receiving Olaparib till next May . I wondered if anyone has been in a similar situation at this stage in treatment , or if you have any thoughts generally?

My dad has been on Olaparib (lynparza) for the BRCA2 gene since October of 2023. His previous scans have been NED (last PET scan end of May). He is having a scan on Wednesday and I am feeling nervous because this is the first time his marker has been elevated.

After being on Olaparib for 2 years it’s back. I have had very low CA125 and a clear scan in June. Last week bloods went crazy and was asked in for a scan. Today they’ve told me there is evidence of disease. They think they might be able to do surgery and then chemo again.
