Hello! I'm new to the forum and it would be interesting to hear if there are people here who have had pericarditis several times but got better and stayed away?
My own story is that my mitral valve was repaired in 2023 and since June 2023 I have had new episodes of pericarditis. The last flare up was about 3 weeks ago and now I have been taking colchicine twice a day.. The symptoms eased quickly when I took NSAIDs + colchicine.
I would also like to hear if others have good stories about this, that the recurrent pericarditis would have improved with time and stayed away?
I've heard that it has taken years for some, but have you been able to exercise between episodes and is there a risk that it has gotten worse the more episodes there have been? The doctor has said that there is nothing to worry about, but you should take a break from sports for at least 6 weeks.

This is a tricky condition which can reappear, and tends to need a lot of rest while the inflammation is active and for a period afterwards to reduce the risk of recurrence
I hope you find others with relevant experience to offer info and support
