Has anyone been refused gamma knife for 2 cm acoustic neuroma?
I have an AN of 2cm yet been told I can’t have gamma knife due to its position & that it will swell with gamma thus causing more symptoms. Surgery it seems is the only option but how long or how bad do I have to be before I am put on the waiting list? It will surely grow & cause worsening symptoms

New diagnosis of a 3cm AN.
Hi All. I'm new to this and just joined and I'm worried silly about this. I'll be getting a call from the consultants at addenbrookes (Cambridge) over the next few weeks apparently. I have had complete hearing loss in my right ear for the last 7 years (whilst living in France). Just had an mri scan

Acoustic neuroma with cysts in it
Hello, I wonder if can ask if anybody has experience of an acoustic
neuroma
with cystic components. I am just being offered surgery for my 2.5cm friend, as radiotherapy treatment is not an option. The consultant said cystic ones can be "unstable".

Who has had radiotherapy without terrible balance effects etc on tumor 15mm pressing on brain stem or similar
Hello, my fellow AN warriors! I've been told by the team at Kings that I may not be a candidate for radiotherapy due to the position of my tumor on the brain stem. It's 15mm at it's largest. My only symtoms are (crazy persistent) tinnitus, some hearing loss, numb ear and a new very occasional twitchy

Hope my Morton’s
Neuroma
doesn’t keep me from going even further. Goes to show it’s never too late. Hope this gives others the courage and encouragement to carry on if they are feeling sometimes it’s a real struggle. I know I have at times

Waiting for MRI IAMS CONTRAST BOTH
I had an MRI 27th November due to developing tinnitus in my left ear 6m ago. I received a letter inviting me for a 2nd MRI IAMS With contrast on 21st December. I spoke to my doctor and he told me the scan revealed a mass . There was no explanation on the letter about my results hence my conversation

Do I have to settle for my deterioration?
I recently had a brain scan to rule out Acoustic
Neuroma
, (IT DID), and a full blood work out, which everyone seemed happy with.

MRI wait and telephone consultation. Long wait is good?
Hi everyone! I had my MRI on the 6th of September, as i’ve had tinnitus for i think a year now and after my hearing test i was told i had mild hearing loss in my left ear. Told it was protocol to have the MRI done to rule things out. I received a phone call from the clinic to book me in for a telephone

How long diagnosis after MRI
I have an MRI scan booked later this week for what I expect the doctors think is a AN, I have tinnitus on my right ear only, but good hearing in both ears. How long after an MRI is typical for the doctors to let you know if it's an AN?

Foot problem.
Has anyone suffered with a Morton’s
neuroma
? If so did it recover on its own or were injections required. This last 6 months since upping my distance to (16K) I’ve had problems with my toes going numb and a pain in the ball of my foot.

Hello everyone,
I was diagnosed with accoustic
neuroma
almost 3 yrs ago and have been awaiting treatment to remove it. Covid has delayed any further consultations or scans. I live in the North East of Scotland and have to travel to Aberdeen for any appointments.

Is Acoustic Neuroma Passed to the Next Generation?
He has Acoustic
Neuroma
(unilateral) and although Google says it is not hereditary, could someone share their experience if it's safe for us to have children. We would appreciate any guidance.

I have had my tumour for 7 years and been on a watch and wait with MRI scans every year but now it has got to the stage it needs treatment I thought I was going to have Radiotherapy but when I went to the consultant he explains it is too big so needs to be removed by surgery could do with some feedback

Referral
Hi. I recently went for an hearing test, knew my hearing one side was not good. After the test he asked me some questions ‘did I have have tinnitus in one side’ Yes. Did I have facial numbness - yes. He then dropped the bombshell that he suspected a tumour. Eventually got to see my doctor who referred
