Correct dosage of folic acid and ferrous fumarate for optimum effect of B12 injections?
Foggyme and others. Please could you confirm what is the correct dosage of ferrous fumarate and folic acid should be to ensure the optimum effect of the B12 injections? As posted previously, my ferritin was 7.5 ug/L [10.0 - 291.0] and my serum folate level was 10.85 ug/L [> 5.38] with the 5mg of

Feeling warm - new blood tests suggests still hypo, doctor is investigating RA please advice
Since my last post 2 weeks ago, I stopped taking a quarter of a 25 mg liothyronine tablet with my levo (100 mg) which I had been trying for 4 days. I had swollen and achy joints in my hands wrists and feet, and was (and still am, especially at night) feeling hot even though it's quite cold here in Manchester

Endo appointment on Thursday - please arm me with right questions/interpret blood tests beforehand
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in Australia in 2008 just after second baby (TSH was 38.45 and raised thyroid antibodies, also had low ferritin and high cholesterol). At time, was busy juggling newborn and toddler so I saw an endo for a few months to settle on a dose of levothyroxine of 100mg a

Blood results
Hello, I recently had these results back, I'm seeing a GP tomorrow I don't really understand what they mean. I'm also keen to get my vitamins iron etc to a good level that might the help me to feel more normal. To do this would having a blood test through Bluehorzin be the best way to go? At the time

Positive response from GP when I told her I continue to self inject alternate days!
I have a good relationship with one particular GP at my practice. She was the one I asked to check my B12 levels when I suspected I was deficient. I saw another GP, who I also regard as competent, when the results came back showing deficiency in B12 and Vit D. He gave me the first loading dose and my

MHRA Public assessment reports
The MHRA has available a considerable number of Public Assessment Reports on medicines. These reports seem to be written during licence application processes. Unlike the Electronic Medicines Compendium (EMC), which is obviously intended for broad public access, these documents are almost hidden away

I'm new on here - Susiecarer
Hi All, my husband has within the last few days been diagnosed with CLL. He is 69, 70 in May. Blood tests have revealed that he has iron deficient anaemia and is taking ferrous sulphate for this. No prescription but local pharmacist was kind enough to sell me it. Due to no idea as to what dose he should

It has been said I am suffering from a mini

My Ferritin, Folate and B12 results
Hi I wonder if you kind people would have a look at my results which I've just had back from my local surgery. B12 401 (190 - 660) Folate 4.1 (3.9 - 26.8) I'm puzzled by the B12 range. 660 doesn't seem very high at all. Do you think I should still take B12 as it is over half way through the range?

Going to have a nervous breakdown? Is there hope with severe anxiety?
During an usual day I will feel out of it, faint, foggy, tired, weak, shaky, have crying spells and my absolute biggest fear is having a
nervous
breakdown
. Reading what other people have gone through like not being able to speak, move or eat, just completely broken.

Perinatal Iron Deficiency-Induced Hypothyroxinemia Impairs Early Brain Development Regardless of Normal Iron Levels in the Neonatal Brain
Rats are not humans. This is research and contradictory evidence could well be found. Perhaps this shows that throwing a pack Ferrous sulphate at a pregnant woman and caring not whether she takes them or not is deplorable practice. Surely the imprtant thing is to ensure that the iron levels are right
