Great PMR forum
Almost 4 years ago I got the diagnoses of PMR. Had never heard of it before although I worked in medical research. Now since more than one year on Prednisolone 1mg/day. You all have been of great help, especially because of the fast replies. My wishes for a happy and healthy 2024 come from Bruges, Belgium

Struggling with flare up
Since last Wednesday my asthma has flared up. I have been taking regular reliever (mart regime fostair 100/6)every 4 hrs. I have had tight chest and peak flow dropped to 350/500. Although I not making my top peak flow as my lungs are still healing from pneumonia. Now I woke up with soreness in my diaphragm

Concern about having more radiation to prostate after 43 external beam treatments 15 years ago
15 years ago my husband had 43 radiation treatments after PSA reached 50 & his 3rd biopsy showed 1 core to have cancer., Gleason was 3-3. He has had Lupron injections since then. He was on 250mg of Zytiga with food and 5 mg Prednisone for 3 years until a year ago because PSA was creeping up & he was

It'll be fine
I had my six month checkups and sometimes had to be numbed for a crown repair etc. There was never a problem. An extraction goes pretty quickly. It'll be over in minutes. You'll be fine. I assume your dentist knows you are taking prednisone so don't give it a thought.Good luck.

Post PMR treatment
Even though I completed prednisone for PMR in June 2022 & my blood work has been good. I am still on an anti inflammatory diet (basically a gluten & dairy free mediterranean diet). I find that I tire more easily & for longer periods. Sometimes I feel a stiffness as if a flare up is returning but

Anyone have success after several donor egg FET transfers?
Hi everyone I'm 45 years old and have done 5 FET transfers with only one positive (a chemical pregnancy that was an early loss.) I told myself I was done with IVF, but part of me wants to try one more time. I have done all the testing imaginable- karyotype, genetic, immune, ERA, emdomitritis etc- all

Meeting with our oncologist for castrate resistance metastatic prostate cancer
We met with my Dad's MO yesterday. (Diagnosed 10/22 with advanced metastatic cancer, became castrate resistant about a year ago.)  He shared that the Xtandi is still blocking some cancer growth, but not all of it. His PSA is 2.8 (currently doubling every four weeks.) His PetScan shows some growth (

cortisone shot while on prednisone
Now slow tapering from 3.5 to 3 of prednisone and my left hip is starting to have discomfort. (Actually a noted issue for me over the last 5years) X-rays show some minor arthritis and orthopedic doctor suggests guided cortisone shot. He said it shouldn’t impact my prednisone tapering since it’s very

PSA increasing
My Dad’s PSA started increasing 2.5 years after diagnosis. It was 0.008 in December, 0.024 at the beginning of March and 0.029 on yesterday. Please advise. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. He is still taking Lupron, Abiraterone and Prednisone 10 mg that were started back in September of 2021.

To take or not to take daily dose of Prednisone before or after blood work (ESR and CRP), that is the question!
I'm going for blood work tomorrow morning, to check inflammatory markers, though not blood sugars as they have always been normal, so I can have breakfast beforehand. I usually take my Pred with breakfast (3.5 mg). Should I take my Pred as usual with breakfast before the tests or wait until afterwards

Was there ever really a chance for a cure?
When I began the Stampede protocol 1 1/2 yrs ago, it was my understanding that two years of Zytiga/Prednisone and three years of Lupon with radiation to the pelvic area at the 7 mo - 1 yr mark gave a chance for a "cure" under my conditions (3+4 gleason, etc). Now, my non-medical view of things is convincing

Covid
hi all, I have been diagnosed with tumid lupus and am currently being investigated for SLE (DR said 99.9% I have it as showing all symptoms etc). I have just tested positive for covid today. Has anyone got any advise? I’ve never had covid, let alone Covid with lupus and I’m terrified this is going

it’s not all asthma
I have only been officially asthmatic since 2017. I was diagnosed with cough variant asthma During that time I have had many courses of prednisolone and had a PPI added for acid reflux. This medication has been increased and my asthma medication added to and changed. In October I saw a locum GP as

Dental work- loosing a tooth
Hello! What a wonderful forum. I thank everyone for their knowledge & experience & I’m so appreciative! I wanted to check on having a tooth pulled and being on 8mg prednisone. I’ll be numbed ofcourse and the deed will be done. Don’t know if I need to worry… but probably will do so anyway. Thank

Update and about to start Radiation
Hi all - just a summary so far. Have been doing the triplet and recently finished the 6 sessions of chemo. Had my CT and Bone scans and then follow up with MO on Friday. All is as we expect - nothing shown in CT. Bone scan shows no new "uptake" in the mets places and nothing new. PSA at .41. I am

strange reaction to my Prednisone after all these years. Highly agitated!!!
hello everyone thank you for helping me recently with the issues I’m having with pain in my ankles and in my feet I have settled on taking 5 mg of prednisone which is an increase from where I had been down to 1 mg in the spring and summer so it has been hard for me to go higher because of stomach issues

Just saw my first rheumatologist yesterday, very confused by diagnosis?
Can you have negative rheumatoid factor, negative CCP antibodies, no pain, stiffness, swelling or symptoms in the small joints (hands, feet etc) & it still be possible to have rheumatoid arthritis? All of my symptoms for the past 5 and 1/2 months seem to be classical PMR (before I started taking prednisone
