Collagen Supplements and Prednisolone
Someone has recommended Collagen supplements to help treat tennis elbow. Does anyone know if it’s safe to take with Pred (currently on 0.75mg)?

pain with slow taper
I’ve been on prednisolone since early July and have tapered down to 13.5 from 20. I had to go back up to 15 for a couple of weeks after getting Covid, but am back to 13.5. I’m achy in my shoulders and arms but nowhere near the pain I was in before preds, so is this normal and will it pass after a few

Why does my rheumatologist want me to go onto Methotrexate when I am on a low does of Prednisolone and am getting good symptom relief?
I am now down to 2mg of Prednisolone a day. From a few weeks in my rheumatologist has wanted me to go onto Methotrexate. I have never achieved total symptom relief and recently I've probably been slightly stiffer than before, certainly in the mornings. My last blood tests showed that my CRP had gone

To Tangocharlie. I would just like to say that my first appointment was a telephone appointment, my GP immediately from the symptoms diagnosed PMR, she prescribed Prednisolone (20mgs) initially, I went overnight from being unable to move to virtually back to normal. The most helpful part of the consultation

emotional on prednisone
I haven’t been on prednisone for years and I’ve had a brain haemorrhage in between so can’t remember how I felt but I’m on 20 mg at the moment and I’m feeling so emotional and sometimes angry at my husband as he isn’t the best person with my current illness, he wants attention, he wants the illness in

Holiday advice
Hi All, I am travelling to Turkey in a few weeks for a holiday and am concerned about getting PMR pain and ruining the holiday. I currently take 6.5mg of prednisone and under control but will travelling make things worse as I feel it on a 2-hour drive let alone a 4.5-hour flight and then an hour and

Can't squat or raise arms without pain?
I have tapered down to 1 mg Prednisone over three years (from 15mg). I have the same weird symptoms that I've always had. If I squat, my legs feel an extreme fatigue/deadness. I can't raise my arms for more than 15-20 seconds without them feeling an extreme fatigue/pain/deadness. Does anyone else have

Chilblain Lupus?
Hi All, Well, after being well for a good period of time it all came to a grinding and painful halt. I have what seems to be Chilblain Lupus. Has anyone else had this or similar? I've attached pictures below to show what it looks like. My apologies in advance as it all looks absolutely horrible

Puzzled by a past asthma attack experience
Around about 2019 I was staying at Harewood near Leeds visiting my parents. I was with a friend and when we were there we enjoyed exploring the Harewood Estate. Tucked away in the woods there, there is the original Harewood Castle which looks like a freestanding keep and is quite awe inspiring. To access

Prednisone and DOMS
Is the inflammation from PMR (which I unfortunately have) and the inflammation from DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness, which I also regularly have) somewhat similar, or are they two different beasts. And whether similar or not, does prednisone reduce DOMS. Thanks in advance for any insights.

Tapering Regime while on Kevzara (or other biologic)
I'm in the U.S. getting Kevzara (third injection is this Tuesday i.e. week six). I am grateful I was allowed to try Kevzara after 9 years on prednisone and never being able to get below 5 mg without a flare amongst other reasons. I have tried to look up the tapering regime for attempting a taper with

what next?
I was diagnosed with PMR five years ago and my gp kept me on Prednisolone for two years which resulted in a catalogue of side effects including glaucoma and cataracts. My diagnosis was confirmed as RA shortly after. I have been taking methotrexate successfully since. However my condition has worsened

PMR question with up coming MRI
My journey with PMR. In August 2023 the doctor thought I had a muscle issue so they prescribed ibuprofen 800 mg every eight hours and Zanaflex for 4 mg every eight hours. I was on this for two weeks and there was no improvement Went back to the doctor on 9/23/ 23 and had blood work done and my SED rate

Warriors Outstanding response to my question concerning Prednisone dosage level. Thank you all for your responses. I will summarize them and post the summary, and what I personally learned from it. It may be a week or 2 as we are preparing for the Eclipse. Got a number of relatives coming to

EBRT - Is it the right thing and what to expect?
After DX in November 2018 with Stage IV and Gleason of 5+4 and 4+5, and 5 years of ADT of Lupron (then Orgovyx), prednisone 5mg, and Zytiga 250mg with low fat breakfast, my PSA stayed stable at 0.4 or 0.5. At end of 2013, PSA started rising to latest value of 0.84. Had PSMA PET Scan March 5, 2024

Wound healing and Steroid Use
I have been on Prednisone for just over a year. I am down to 10mg and cannot titer down without flare. I am waiting for approval for Kevzara. I have noticed that when I get a small cut or skin abrasion (which is more frequent since my skin is thinner with steroid use) It gets very red and takes a long
