covid
Yes it is, for the vast majority... unless you are one of those people who react adversely to vaccines... see you posted a few months ago on AF forum re flu virus.
Suggest you need to speak to your GP.
I've had all the Covid jabs while on prednisone. Once I had a flare of the PMR and the bivalent booster 18 months ago resulted in a distinct worsening of my atrial fibrillation. However, the booster this November was totally uneventful. I have never reacted to a flu jab though.
Reading your profile page doesn't reveal a lot but do I gather your PMR symptoms started after your flu jab 6 months ago?
I have had about 7 I think, whilst on Pred of varying doses without a problem.
Thanks for responses… yes I did start this flare soon after flue jab…I suppose I won’t ever know if the jab triggered it…I am feeling cautious about having it but with my other conditions I am loathe not to.. Has anyone had the booster yet?
There is the last straw theory. A flare is slowly building for all kinds of reasons then the vaccine pushes it over the edge. I do feel more seedy after a flu jab than a Covid booster.
The programme has only just come on line this month -so bit early for most people - would expect invitations to be sent out shortly
Regarding other conditions I am having difficulty adding any more info to my profile..I have AF , Aortic stenosis ,moderate at the moment and Fibromyalgia.
I've had about 5 boosters without problems...
yes
I had 3 Pfizer vaccines shots and for the 4th vaccine shot, I decided to go with Moderna to mix it up and hopefully increase my immunity to the various strains. That was June of 2022. My PMR started within 2 weeks of that shot. I found out later that Moderna had 3 times the active ingredient as Pfizer. Hindsight, I should have stuck with Pfizer.
It has taken me 1 year and 8 months to tape down to 1.5 mg. Though being exposed to Covid many times, I have never gotten Covid. After talking with GP, he agreed that it is okay for me to pause Covid and flu vaccines for now so as not to aggravate my immune system. I do not need to ramp it up - I am afraid I will flare.
We agreed to revisit vaccines if and when I am pain / stiffness free. I realize others have been fine but I seem to be very sensitive.

Can't remember what number I'm on could be 6 or 7 and not had any problems with any of them. Likewise the flu jab.
