MTX appears to have no improvement
I am supposed to be on 10 mgs of Prednisone but had to increase to 15 mg while in flare with PMR .We are travelling on a bus tour and the early mornings are brutal. In May my Rheumy also put me on MTX which is appearing to have no effect except interrupting my enjoyment of my evening wine .Are there

Has anyone been successful in knocking out a Klebsiella pneumoniae UTI?
My husband has struggled with recurrent UTIs since 2020 when he was diagnosed with bladder cancer , had several bladder surgeries, many cystoscopies, and yearly prostate biopsies….so a lot of poking around .. He has been on antibiotics many times , and has been on daily low dose bactrim for almost

I am 57 year old female with severe body pain. The all over pain is ache but the severe pain is lower back. When I explained this to rheumatologist she diagnosed PMR. Started taking 20 mg prednisone. It helped with the ache but the back pain is still there. It eased the back pain some but not all the

Okay, here's the deal. I am currently on 4 mg of prednisone. Started the 7 week reducing from 4 1/2 mg back towards the end of May. I have been on 4 steady for a little over two weeks and have struggled with anxiety for the last two weeks due to a serious medical situation with my son. Next week

What to expect from a 10 percent reduction?
After 4-5 months on 7.5mg prednisone I have reduced to 6.8 (approximately). I have been on 6.8 for 10 days now and I am ok except for being fatiqued. Is that to be expected even though the reduction is less than 10 percent? And for how long should I wait before going back to 7.5mg? I have to get at least

How long does Pred take to work?
hiya all, Many thanks for all the support last week - was so appreciated. I started taking 15mg of prednisone last week and almost immediately felt a lifting of fatigue - definitely had more energy and a reduction in pain. My question is does its effect carry on building up? I am still fairly stiff

How long after reducing steriods does moon face go away?
Hey all, I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis after an 8 year long battle with chronic health. I was then put on 40mg of prednisolone and it took a long time for them to reduce and after two months I started to have moon face and a more rounded stomach. I am now starting 5mg from tomorrow and

Second guessing myself on how to proceed
I've had PMR since January 2022 and was initially put on methylprednisolone (4 mg twice a day) for about 2 months but that made me ill so was switched to prednisone (5 mg twice a day). I started tapering several months later in 2022 and got down to 7 mg but then flared so went back up to 10 mg and stayed

adrenals not working
After getting down to 3 mg of prednisone (still doing Actemra injections) my endo switched me to hydrocortisone for a couple of months. I got down to two 5mg tablets in AM and one 5mg tab in PM, the PM dose kept my blood pressure from going too low. Last month my endo did ACTH testing and said my Adrenal

Stop taking lansoprazole
I'm now down to 2.5mg prednisolone. My latest prescription delivered coated tablets which I've been taking without issues. Update from GP re blood in urine
Phone call first thing from Surgery. Please could you drop in a fresh urine sample. OK yes no problem, take it to GP surgery and nurse says, "will test now" Hm yes still very small traces of blood and also small evidence of Leuokocytes, could be due to UTI. Just check with GP, she says, GP

Skin problem
I have been on Prednisone since 2020 and down to 8 1/2 mg. All of a sudden I have noticed flat, dark red spots (not itchy) on my chest. My rheumatologist thinks it could be from the Prednisone. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for always being here for all of us.

Sleeping demon still stirring?
I've posted occasionally over the 8 years that I've dealt with PMR and owe a great debt to everyone here. The information and advise gleaned from here has been invaluable for dealing with PMR and functioning with a busy life. I finally made my first true attempt at being off prednisone about 3 months

hiatus hernia
I have been on prednisone since January 2017…it seems a lifetime ago☹️ I was put on Alendronic Acid which in turn gave me a hiatus hernia/GERD (2019) ...the consultant I saw said he was positive it happened because of the AA…☹️ It has undoubtedly had a major affect on my life making PMR almost acceptable
