Measles
Has anyone else had the measles? When I was about 8 I had the measles as I wasn't vaccinated. A Doctor had diagnosed me with the measles when I was a baby so my notes said I didn't need to be vaccinated. Strangely, my Gran said it wasn't the measles, but the Doctors still refused to vaccinate me and

How measles causes the body to ‘forget’ past infections by other microbes.
One of the most contagious human pathogens, the measles virus is dangerous enough by itself, with sometimes-fatal complications including pneumonia and brain inflammation. Two detailed studies of blood from unvaccinated Dutch children who contracted measles now reveal how such infections can also compromise

W9R2 First run since Cellulitis
I posted a month ago about feeling bad after W9R1 only to find out I had cellulitis. In the end I had 3 bags of IV antibiotics that day followed by 5 days of 1 bag a day, top off with 7 days of 2 different tablet antibiotics. Needless to say my leg swelled up like an elephant's and it taken until yesterday

Lyme disease - rise in numbers being bitten
As we know, many patients with Lyme disease often end up with Thyroid problems Interesting article in Guardian on Lyme and the UK https://www.theguardian.com/society/2019/aug/04/my-brush-with-lyme-disease-increase-new-forest-scotland

Impetigo
Hi everyone, I am still on Pred for PMR and should be meeting someone tomorrow who has been diagnosed with Impetigo. Would it be advisable to give them a wide berth. Thank you, Jenny x

Can someone help figure out what the heck is going on with just my right foot?
Only for the past 3 or so years, my right foot subddenly is constantly peeling, cracking, and what looks similar to athletes foot with thick and rough skin.. but no athletes foot medication has ever improved the situation. My left foot (upper left corner photo) has had absolutely none of these symptoms

Ringworm
Hello, over the past few months I’ve been coming out in episodes of ringworm, I am a mixed martial artist so it can be common when doing jiu jitsu. However recently I have no training in nearly two months and I have had ring worm 3 times, I’m constantly changing my bedding so it’s clean, my towels everything

Misleading titles
Hello admin.. I just wondered if you should remove or have the title changed on the post regarding measles as without reading further it could be interpreted as downplaying measles? I could not post response as you had blocked replies but post still in place. Just a thought!

Measles topic
I was unable to edit my post. I was going to add: Chippysue, perhaps you are referring to rubella, the 3-day measles, as opposed to RUBEOLA, the more virulent and serious viral illness. Rubeola is a nasty and dangerous virus. People do die from it.
