Corneal ulcer
I've just got back from the local minor injuries unit as I have what looks like a blister on my eyeball. The Nurse Practitioner diagnosed a corneal ulcer. She says she thinks I have dry eyes - is this quite common with SLE? Should I contact the rheumatology department or GP regarding the dry eyes? I

Eye angiography with Indocyanine green
I have been told that I am to have the procedure in January and looking at the possible side effects I am worried that it may result in an episode of AF. At the moment things are still settled, cryoablation in 2007, and only rarely have to use my PIP Flecainide. Has anyone on the forum had this dye injected

Inspiration
Did anyone else hear the wonderful interview on the Jeremy Vine show (BBC R2) yesterday of the deaf blind young woman who is a fourth year medical student? She is so inspiring and made me take stock a bit of my condition and putting hurdles in the way of what I can achieve whilst having impaired vision

Or in my case, trifoliate/sour oranges, make marmalade. Sweet oranges don't grow in my region. Though in California I always made sure to have access to a Seville Orange tree for it's flavorful tart fruit, here in Virginia the only hardy citrus is Trifoliate Orange, a thorny tree often used as rootstock

Retinal vein Occlusion
i'm a 58 year old afro caribbean guy, who's in my first year as an IT contractor, after twenty years as PAYE; I've had retinal vein occlusion in my left eye recently and will be having my first Eyelea intravitreal injection next month. I've booked a day off for this first injection, but have been advised

Burning tongue, dry mouth
Sudden sore tongue and dry mouth aged 60. Acid taste in mouth. Other than that very fit and healthy. Take no medications. My main concern is bad breath & teeth issues. Has anyone taken fish oils or similar to help with the dryness? Any tips welcome!

Still confused
am still not sure if my AF will cause damage. I have a very irregular hb but never higher than 60 on a very few occasions it went up to 110 but I didn’t notice only detected on my fit bit. I suppose I am lucky not to have episodes. My energy level is low and I get breathless if walking fast or climbing

New Here...PTSD and trembling right leg
Hi all, Just saying "hello" as I came across this site looking for people's experience dealing with PTSD. I'm a 51 man from the UK and have been off work for the best part of 12 months with work related PTSD (lots of work around guns and dangerous situations). Main manifestation is a shaking right leg

Hello a while ago I posted about a PIP assessment.... Thank you any one who replied...sorry I didn't say 'thanks' back then. So I am waiting for them to decide whether I can still have PIP. Here's hoping🙄 On another note does any one have any thoughts on this - I am on the biologic tocilizumab. In recent

Thrombophlebitis
So last week I thought I must have banged my leg as I had a red tender area (felt like a bruise coming) but over the week it’s got bigger so decided I better go to the drs. I wondered if I had thrombophlebitis but thought ‘nahhh I’m on warfarin!’ Low and behold I do have thrombophlebitis. This is he

Just Seen my normal eye check up and told them I had blurry vision in my left eye. Having been seen by a senior optometrist she said that as I had an eye appointment with St Thomas on the 23rd that I should call them to move it forward as it looked like macular degeneration (at 48 years of age) so St

Flare
PMR, FIBRO, GCA I went down from 2mg Rayos (Prednisone) to 1mg Rayos. Wow...burning pain in buttocks, painful stiff hips, mood swings, extreme fatigue. I went back up to 2mg Rayos. Everything has gotten better except for extreme fatigue. So frustrating...now I am back to chair yoga trying to improve

I’ve not long been diagnosed with skin lupus, but if there is any UV (even when it’s raining), I get a flare up.
I was diagnosed with skin lupus but I have it so severe, is it normal to get flare ups even when the UV Ray is only 1? It looks like I have red eye shadow, my ears are red and scaly, if it gets higher than 5 UV, I have to stay in. I’ve been told to get the UV film up on my windows. I have 4 types of
