Help!!!!!

*UPDATE*

everything was fine and they managed to collect 12 eggs, so losing some of the trigger shot obviously didn’t make any difference!! Thanks for helping to keep me sane!!! X

I’ve just took my trigger shot at 9pm but the syringe kept getting loads of air in, like half the thing was air! So I put it back into the bottle but when I have drawn it out again I feel like there was a lot of liquid came out onto my hand. I had to inject what was left but it had loads of air in. Now I’m worried there wasn’t enough in the shot and it was more air than anything else!! What if there wasn’t enough? Will this cause problems with egg collection on Monday? I can’t even call the clinic as they are closed on Sunday’s!

I don't think there's anything to worry about, you've still got tomorrow but didn't they give you an emergency phone number?

On my last transfer day I didn't take cyclogest on time (2 hours late). I called the clinic and they said it's fine, it doesn't matter about the time you take it. What I want to say is I think we can allow for taking a smaller dose or at a later time.

I can’t give any medical opinion, but when I went in for my egg collection I was in a bay next to a lady who had lost about a quarter of her trigger shot (she accidentally pressed the syringe before injecting and pushed it out!). She was told not to worry and she still had a successful collection.

I’d try not to worry and ring them as soon as you can Monday morning or let them know as soon as you arrive for your collection x

I lost some out of my cetrotide injection and was panicking so rang the emergency number and they said there is usually more than you need in the injections for instances like this so I’m sure you’ll be fine but for peace of mind call anyway - there should be an emergency number on your meds protocol? Xx

I’ve just spoke to someone and he seemed to think it was fine as long as there was at least half the dose, which I’m sure there was but you can never be sure when you are a stressing mess 🙄 I couldn’t get the plunger any closer to the liquid either so I’ve plunged half a syringe of air in my stomach with the remaining liquid so that’s got me a bit worried too as had a headache since. Everything I’ve read said as long as it’s in the stomach it’s fine and not a vein. But I’m waiting for 111 to call me back just in case. It’s typical when you try to chill out before collection then this happens. There must be an easier way to take the trigger shot that all the mixing of powders etc. Thanks so much to you all for replying and your reassurance xx

Glad you got through to someone. Sometimes I think we need to go on a course for these injections!

Fingers crossed for tomorrow!! Xxx

Ah glad all ok. I found mixing them so stressful - I would have been exactly like you if it was the trigger though, thankfully that one was made up ready! Good luck tomorrow! X

Hi I was exactly the same last night with my trigger due to the air bubbles in my Gonsai. But don’t worry, shouldn’t be affected. Xxx

Oh glad we’re in same boat and it’s not just me! 😂 111 called back at 3am and said even with half a syringe of air it will be fine 😴 so do you have egg collection tomorrow too?

Yes I have collection tomorrow at 9.15am so had my needle last night at 9.15PM and was exactly the same scenario as you 🤣 luckily my friend is a nurse she said it’s fine. Have u felt anything at all since having it? My stomach feels quite tender today. I don’t know if that’s just nerves though 😆 xxx

😂😂

Is this your first egg collection or you done it before? I’ve just started getting some slight shooting pains in my ovary area but that’s all so far. How many days stimming you had? X

I felt that I pulled the needle out too early and lost quite a lot of liquid. Didn’t make a difference to me - got 9 eggs, 6 fertilised and currently 15 weeks pregnant! x

I lost about one third to half of my trigger shot and still had a successful collection so try not to worry!
