Fixing the Microbiome - Fighting Pathogens?
I do a lot of things to help my brain and clean up a-synuclein in the gut (and hopefully the brain), but it seems to me that no protocol is complete unless it addresses normalizing the microbiome, and assuming that if there is some pathogen in the microbiome that started this cascade, addressing that

Diagnosis
So after a year and a half of being told I have Fibromyalgia, I've just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes! I'm shocked it's taken so long but more disappointed and upset with myself for not looking after myself. Feeling very overwhelmed and low but at least I know why I've felt so poorly.

Atorvastatin and PMR
Does anyone take Atorvastatin who has been diagnosed with PMR? I was diagnosed with PMR nine years ago. Couldn’t get below 3mg and have been put on a ‘ maintenance’ dose of 5mg as my adrenal glands don’t seem to want to wake up. It’s been recommended that I take a statin to protect against stroke/

2022 New Year 🎁: The J R Kraft test, & the REAL pathology of Type 1 & Type 2 diabetes ( - of which T2DM is the 'end-stage' of disease !).
"2022" greetings to all readers ! Searching for "Kraft" today on this forum returned only 18 results, & none from the past year or two ! That's a pity, as the fruits of pathologist Dr Joseph R Kraft's research about insulin & associated glucose levels are worth knowing about & understanding in broad

Hypothyroidism and glucose levels
I have been thyroidless for almost 12 years (as well as hypoparathyroid). Glucose levels have usually been in the top part of the range, but lately they've jumped higher. Found one study that indicated hypothyroidism is associated with a faulty increase in hemoglobin A1C levels. This could lead to

Christmas carbs
I may be asking the obvious here: I have managed to keep my weight down by eating a lot fewer refined carbs and virtually no refined sugar. But my blood sugar remains high. I have never been overweight. If I eat a few small bits of eg, Christmas pudding, is it likely that my liver will go Whoopee! and

Low triiodothyronine levels correlate with high B-type natriuretic peptide levels in patients with heart failure
An association between low T3 and cardiac disorders. They appear to very responsibly avoid unwarranted conclusions - which came first? - but at least the question is being asked. [i] • Open Access • Published: 08 November 2021

Worried about husband type 2 diabetic
My husband is on metformin and has now had it increased to 2000 mg daily with another tab now included called for Dapagliflozin 10mg, but when he’s using the urine dipstick the colour is dark brown which indicates far too much sugar, he’s been passing blood for three weeks and was given antibiotics for

Plant Sterols and Levothyroxine
Being hypothyroid my cholesterol levels have been quite high-last reading was 7, 2 years ago. Have been using a proactive margerine as don't want to go on statins. Has anyone had any success with plant sterol supplements? Are they tolerated with levothyroxine? Any anecdotal experiences would be appreciated

Stem cell-based implants successfully secrete insulin in patients with type 1 diabetes...Big Hope...
Interim results from a multicenter clinical trial demonstrate insulin secretion from engrafted cells in patients with type 1 diabetes. The safety, tolerability, and efficacy of the implants, which consisted of pancreatic endoderm cells derived from human pluripotent stem cells (PSCs), were tested

Solutions for GP’s ?
I’ve just been involved in a conversation on this site re the disappearance of GP’s and the probability that we may never return to the pre COVID system of face to face appointments and a friendly local GP coming to visit you in your own home All the participants in the conversation are equally baffled
