Just a little about me, diagnosed June 2016, started with sinemet 100mg three times a day, now three years later meds look like this. Sinemet 250mg four times a day, requip 2mg once daily extended release. Having problems with dyskinesia, bad leg and foot cramps, will be seeing a new neurologist in October

Lymph Node Transfer
Hi there! I am new to this site and looking for some advice. Since having a mastectomy and node clearance for BC almost five years ago, I developed lymphedema of the arm which has gradually got worse (almost 70% increase :-( ) I have been fortunate to be listed on the NHS for a lymph node transfer

IVF/ICSI Abroad??
We are unable to have IVF/ICSI on the NHS as my husband has had failed vasectomy reversal. Private treatment here in the UK seems unattainable for us due to cost. Has anyone had IVF/ICSI abroad? I've been looking at Poland, Czech Republic and Madrid. I was just looking for anyone who has had fertility

My OCD, Anxiety, and Panic.
Hello everyone. I’m new to the community, but have been having a really tough time since October of 2018. I guess I can give some background. I was diagnosed with OCD/Anxiety/Depression when I was 14. Back then, I did a lot of hand washing, checking, organizing, and had intrusive thoughts about bad

opioid induced hyperalgesia
Hey guys, So we've been in a weird lull, no new news yet, but scans upcoming which are causing us a lot of anxiety. Most recently my mom has been in constant pain and discomfort and I thought it might be the meds she has been on for so long. Turns out I was right. They have been making her feel worse

Catheter with PMR/GCA
Attended urologist clinic yesterday and discovered retaining water in bladder. Over past 6 months had difficulty passing urine- slow. Could this be caused by steroids? Diagnosed with PMR Nov 2017 then GCA Feb 2018 when upped to 60mg Pred along with the usual Omniprazole, Adcal and AA. Now down to

May have RLS - Just got ferritin reading
Went to a Pulmonary doctor for another topic, and during discussion, he said I may have RLS. I checked symptoms, and it sounds just like me. Diagnosis is not 'finalized' yet. I just got results back from getting a ferritin reading, and it came back at 15.5. Says it is low, but does not tell me normal

Greetings from my right breast
Hi all, I'm 55 and my father's sister died of breast cancer in her 40s or 50s and my mother's mother was successfully treated for it in her 60s (full mastectomy both sides with lymph nodes). In a couple of weeks I am getting my first ever needle biopsy on a mass I have had since say 10 or 11, as well

CBD/ medical marijuana??
Hi everyone. I am in the UK and I have lupus, fibromyalgia, Raynaud, myositis IBS and the list goes on. I don't know very much about CBD or medical marijuana and wanted to know if you can be prescribed it on NHS or what's the best thing for lupus. I went to a stall the other day and the guy was showing

Pred and Calcium thanks!
Thanks everyone. Heaven preserve us from unspecific information. Heard about the Thyroxine suggestion before but nothing on that leaflet either except “before breakfast”. Suppose I’d better take the Adcal around 5pm in case it does matter, but it’s a flippin’ job to remember everything all over the place

Pred and calcium tablets timing
I’ve recently changed the time of my Pred evening split dose to help with mornings. Have now been seeing remarks about separating time of Adcal from the Pred. Having Googled and re-read the leaflets on both I can find no mention of this. Dr hasn’t said anything (but then no Dr has said anything useful

Testosterone slows prostate cancer recurrence in low-risk patients
The team worked with 834 patients undergoing radical prostatectomy. They treated 152 low-risk patients with no evidence of disease with testosterone replacement therapy. After a median of 3.1 years following surgery, they tested the patients for biochemical recurrence of the cancer, as indicated by measurement

CLINICAL TRIAL w/ ALISERTIB
After 4 cycles of Ibrance along w/ Fulvestrant injections another tumor appeared in my left breast that continues to grow. The 1st tumor that I discovered initially in that breast went away after 16 rounds of intravenous chemo in 2017. A mastectomy was not done as my cancer had already metastasized and

I've been following the posts and find them all helpful and inspirational. This is the first time I've posted. I had stage 1 breast cancer in 2016. A lumpectomy and 21 rounds of radiation (so it wouldn't come back). I was done, put it behind me and moved on. In March, while bathing, I noticed several

Survival after radiotherapy vs. radical prostatectomy for unfavorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer.
New study below [1]. "RP {radical prostatectomy} was associated with higher survival when compared to EBRT {external beam radiation therapy} (HR = 2.30) and brachytherapy {BT} (HR = 2.9" but: "We found no statistically significant difference in survival between RP and EBRT+BT. Vasectomy and PCa: a 38-year nationwide cohort.
New Danish study below. I have been following the vasectomy-PCa link for 15 years. At diagnosis my vasectomy was already 25 years in the past. It seems to me that the cancer link to vasectomy has been deemed to be unacceptable. What would happen if men throughout the world refused vasectomies? One

PBC and azathioprine vs medical marijuana
My doctor recently prescribed me 50 mg daily azathioprine six weeks ago and now I have symptoms of IBS, no solid stool for a week, stomach discomfort. I’m thinking of lowering my dose to 25 MG daily, and possibly weaning myself off. Needless to say, it’s affecting my quality-of-life. I’ve read studies
