Mornings
Good morning everyone, Since I’ve reduced prednisolone down to 5mg I have noticed wrist and hand stiffness in the mornings. Sometimes my fingers feel as if they are tingling when I wake. I also still have puffiness on the outside of each ankle below the bone despite reducing steroids. I thought this

Update: results of a recent PSMA PETscan
I wanted to share with you the results of my recent PSMA PET SCAN. A quick synopsis of my history: an 18+ year journey: radical prostatectomy in August 2003. PSA following surgery was 0.1. It slowly rose to 0.4 over a period of 11 years. Following a more rapid rise to .6, I had salvage radiation in

INR problems
On Warfarin for 5 years still I broke my ankle followed by DVT. My INR level should be between 2.0 & 3.0 but has been erratic sometimes too and sometimes too low. I had a Total Gastrectomy 30 years ago and was wondering if malabsorption is causing the problem.

External beam radiotherapy [EBRT] and radical prostatectomy [RP] are associated with better survival in Asian PCA patients
New study of SEER data below [1]. "Relative to white patients, an important cancer-specific mortality advantage applies to intermediate-risk and high-risk Asian prostate cancer patients treated with external beam radiotherapy, and to high-risk Asian patients treated with radical prostatectomy. Cancer again
Has anyone gotten a secondary cancer while on W & W ? I had breast cancer two years ago and had a lumpectomy with no chemo or radiation. My cancer is now back in same breast. Thinking of a mastectomy this time but still concerned that the CLL might be an underlying cause. Any comments would be very

Rising PSA and want to be the best advocate!
Hello all, I have been following posts here for quite some time, and need a little advice. My father, who is 73, was dx'd with PCA in 2002, PSA 4.2, radical prostatectomy at Mayo, Gleason 3+4, one positive margin. PSA undetectable until winter 2003. Had seven weeks of radiation to the prostate bed at

Breast Tenderness post Eligard
It's been a year since my last 3-month Eligard injection (following radical prostatectomy and salvage radiation) and my PSA level in late November has stayed undetectable while my testosterone level has risen to 13.2 nmol/L. Recently my breasts have become quite tender. Will this resolve on its own or

PCa-specific Survival after Radical Prostatectomy Is Improved by Metformin but not other Antidiabetic Drugs
New study from Finland below [1]. "Only postdiagnostic metformin use was associated with reduced risks of PCa death {53% reduction} and ADT initiation compared with nonusers." While Metformin users would be predominantly diabetic, it looks as though "nonusers" inxlude non-diabetics. "insulin and insulin

Vitamins D and K2 and Adcal
I heard yesterday from my daughter-in-law that my grandson, who suffers from PoTS, had had blood tests done. She said "these show that he has extremely low vitamin D so is starting vitamins this week. I think his new doctor is hoping this may help relieve some tiredness and aches." I sent her this

I’m being ahead of my game but....
I’m currently on a slow taper (DL’s regime] and have stayed on 4 mg for about 4 weeks now (having reduced very slowly by 0.5mg each time]. I’m definitely not in any hurry to reduce quickly, but thinking ahead [ok, I’m dreaming], to when the day comes when I get down to say 1mg, will it be essential

Disappointing recent Consultantation with Neurologist. Disregarded all the information I provided about ferritin and iron / RLS
Hi all, I last spoke to my neurologist in October 2021, where I was being advised to consider taking pregablin for RLS. I was advised the same on previous consultation after coming off DA (Ropinrole).I don’t know if you recall, I had been on pregabalin previously 450mg for anxiety for 2years. Very

Radical Prostatectomy - Maybe It's Time is Past
I recently received this from Prostate Cancer News: Basically, research indicating that the related side effects make radical prostatectomy counter-indicated for Gay Men.
