PBC and azathioprine vs medical marijuana

My doctor recently prescribed me 50 mg daily azathioprine six weeks ago and now I have symptoms of IBS, no solid stool for a week, stomach discomfort. I’m thinking of lowering my dose to 25 MG daily, and possibly weaning myself off. Needless to say, it’s affecting my quality-of-life. I’ve read studies on medical marijuana and liver, Wondering if this would help. My doctor previously stated there’s no studies done on marijuana, but I’d like to have my quality-of-life back. Thoughts?

Have you tried taking Metamucil daily? Sounds counter-productive but will actually help to regulate stools. Check with your dr first and see if there is something else he can switch you too

Why AZA for pbc? I take it because I have aih as well as pbc.

Did you have blood test to make sure that you can take AZA safely

I trust that my doctor gave me a blood test before prescribing that. What type of blood test? Btw I am no longer on AZA, and yes -I have AIH too. Thank you !
