PBC and edible medical marijuana
I have read conflicting reports stating marijuana improves liver conditions and other reports that say it is bad for your liver. I know this is a new frontier (at least in the U.S.) but I have terrible insomnia and the cocktail of medications I am taking has never worked. I am obviously an extremely

Update
I thought I would update the group and get anyone’s thoughts. In January of this year, I had radical prostatectomy here in Chicago. Unfortunately, post operative PSA was 1.37 at seven weeks post surgery. SuBsequent PET scan Axiuma was clear showing no signs of cancer. Most recent PSA is 1.14. Current

A Decipher Shower
My 0.94 Decipher score has given me a shower to sail through before getting back into the sun: second reading of my surgical pathology at my nearby NCCN member institute. ***** Original pathology: Prostate, da Vinci radical prostatectomy: - Adenocarcinoma, bilateral, Gleason score 4+3=7 (Grade Group

Breast pain
I was diagnosed in December 2017 with stage 1 Mucinous ovarian cancer. I had a radical hysterectomy and was told that I did not need chemo. Because I'm adopted and don't know anything about my natural family's medical background I asked for the BRCA gene test, but was told that because it was mucinous

Radical Prostatectomy or Radiotherapy for High and Very High Risk Prostate Cancer?
New study from MD Anderson. "Long-term outcomes appear similar among high and very high-risk prostate cancer patients deemed eligible for either RP or RT and treated after consultation in a multidisciplinary prostate cancer clinic." So, to those who are beating themselves up over making the wrong choice

After being Dx PCa Metastasis, any reason to regularly see an Urologist?
Recently, my Urologist's office contacted me, asking why I'm cancelling scheduled visits. Told them the "active surveillance" strategy failed miserably after year 5, my pelvis MRI looked like scrambled eggs when PCa diagnosed (Dx) with PSA 1000+, your office only recommended radical prostatectomy (RP

High white blood cell count
My GP sent me for blood tests, yet again, last week. He rang me 2 days later to ask if I felt ok as my white blood cell count was through the roof and I am now showing signs of anaemia. Got a bit concerned as he kept asking repeatedly "did I feel ok?" Anyway, had more bloods done yesterday, chest x ray

EP in Wales
I wonder if anyone can recommend a good EP/Cardiologist in South Wales. I moved to Wales about 18 months ago and have had several health issues since. Unfortunately I've been really disappointed - well actually appalled, at the NHS in Wales. I had an ablation about 2 plus years ago at Bristol

Dumb question?
Has anyone, or some one you know, turned down curative total gastrectomy when offered? I know it is the only hope of a cure.

Need some moral support please
I’m a healthy 63 year old — but for the darn MBD dx June 2018! I still bicycle etc. When I was first diagnosed stage 2 with mastectomy in 2004, I prayed I’d see our daughter through high school. When I was diagnosed stage 3 in 2014, her first year of college, I was thrilled to watch her graduate last

Issues with erection post radical Prostate surgery
Hi All, My partner wanted me to ask this as he is becoming a bit despondent. He had a radical prostatectomy 6 weeks ago. He had almost no issues with urinary incontinence straight after the catheter was removed. BUT now he is worried about erections. How long does this take to come back, if ever

PC treatment with Irreversible Electroporation (IRE): Safety, efficacy and clinical experience in 471 treatments.
I haven't heard of this treatment before but the results look good; see www.urotoday.com (19 April) "The results indicate comparable efficacy of IRE to standard radical prostatectomy in terms of 5-year recurrence rates and better preservation of urogenital function, proving the safety and suitability

Young mum with advanced gastric cancer, which was misdiagnosed for 7 months as I didn’t fit the profile of the average gastric cancer patient. Now going for PIPAC in Europe, which is aerosol chemo to the peritoneum with the objective of holding back peritoneal spread and potentially putting me back in

Statins & Active Surveillance
New study below. Of little relevance to us, but it's interesting that: "There was a 2% decrease in the odds of adverse pathology for each month of statin use among the men who progressed to radical prostatectomy while on active surveillance". -Patrick https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30996285 Prostate

How do I know
I was diagnosed with stage IIIb lobular carcinoma in April of 2011. I had health insurance under the expanded Medicaid (thanks to the ACA) after 7 years of no coverage thanks to my pre-existing condition (thyroid cancer in 1999). I went through a lumpectomy followed by mastectomy, 6 months of chemo,
