Bowel habit changes
Hi all, just wondered if anybody has had softer motions due to all the medication e.g. Steroids, Adcal, K2, magnesium etc. Plus loads of fruit and veg and little bread. Does all this add up to a looser bowel? Mine seems to be like this for the last 18 months of so after having PMR. Has anyone else noticed

Here is one for PCa Partners.
New study below [1]. Studies that have taken marital status into account have always found a survival advantage in having a partner. On the other hand, length of marriage has been reported to be an PCa incidence risk factor. I was diagnosed after 37 years of marriage, 15 years ago - supporting both

I normally take 1mg pred on wakening and my Adcal sometime in the afternoon. My question, what is the most effective

Low T could hasten time to post-RP biochemical recurrence.
New study below. Off-topic for this group, but I like to report studies that erode the assumption that testosterone is "fuel" for PCa. "Men with low levels of free testosterone 3 months after undergoing radical prostatectomy could face increased chance of early recurrence of prostate cancer, according

Pale, clay-coloured stools
Since my total gastrectomy 5 weeks ago my stools have been almost white. A blood test done 3 days ago showed abnormal liver and kidney functioning. Is this normal after such major op?

Low-serum testosterone and high-chromogranin A are associated with high-grade prostate cancer and higher pathological stages of the disease.
New Italian study below [1]. Low-serum testosterone [T] was defined as < 300 ng/dL. High chromogranin A [CgA] was defined as > 80 ng/ml. High-grade PCa was defined as Gleason score 4+3 to 10, (rather than the usual 8-10). *** Low T was found in 80% of high-grade cases (versus 12.6%). High CgA was found

Vasectomy
I recently had the procedure,10 days ago, and feel I've had two experiences in one. So drop your pants, lie on the table legs apart. No problem. Bit of cold spray, then injection into scrotum. Slightly painful but not too bad. Then incision, tube on right testicle pulled out and snipped.(yes you do feel

GCA Sufferers Please be BMA (Be More Aware - than me!)
I have been a GCA sufferer for over ten years (6 months of Polymyalgia). And I have made mistakes - and sometimes - I just haven't been told or been made aware of important factors. Hands up for the following: 1 Did you know that you are safe if you chose to sit tight on your level of prednisolone proving
