Mirena Coil...terrified!!!!
Hey ladies, I am booked in on Monday to get the
mirena
coil fitted, I'm absolutely terrified I've read so many horror stories online & from family members who have tried it and their body has rejected it.

(New symptoms) Does this mean my endometriosis has come back??
(So everything i had before surgery but slightly less painful because the
mirena
and hormones help) I have tried nerve pain medications which have not worked. The cramps are actually slowly getting worse even though they are already unbearable. I have recently started getting new symptoms!

Does anyone with endometriosis have their period every single day?
It was the exact same pain and but maybe a bit more lighter bleeding as before surgery, which made me think it wasn't because of the
mirena
. Also, the
mirena
should have settled by then. I let my Gynacologist know and she said it wasn't normal to keep bleeding with the
mirena
in for that long.

Appointment Advice please (Manchester)
I saw them and they recommended the
mirena
coil. After two goes at trying to get that in, it was not successful due to a twist in my cervix entrance. At my last appointment they said I have endometriosis.

Yet another consultant...
I had a lap 7 months ago and was diagnosed with endo stage 3 (superficial - whatever that means because the pain is not superficial in the least). 5 minutes before my 2nd lap in March to remove the endo my surgeon (BSGE centre) changed his mind and thought it best that I try the
Mirena
again.

Consultant recommendation
They have no idea how severe or not the endo problem is.Other than suggesting a
mirena
coil when they initially sent me in to have the polyp out, no doctor has really suggested looking in to the endo further. Just spent easter in A and E with back spasms so bad they had me on morphine for 4 days.

Bad Mirena Experience
None of the consultants took me seriously apart from 1 and that was because his wife had the exact same experience with the
Mirena
Coil.

How many Decapeptyl injections can I have??
I am not having HRT, but I do still have a
Mirena
inserted! Apart from a blip of excruciating joint pain a few days after my 1st injection I am getting on really well & have very little pain 😊 I've been prescribed 3 injections which takes me to June when I have my 4th laparoscopy booked for.

Endo and weight gain
I got diagnosed with endo 3 years ago and have since been put on dual contraception (pill and
mirena
coil) Before this I was a size 8/10 (apart from bloated days) and was always able to lose weight if needed.

Is it Endo?
Now I've seen the gynacologist on and off since last June, I've tried the
Mirena
coil, Progesterone's (mainly Cerazette), I've also tried Microgynon from the age of 16, then Cilest.

Newly diagnosed
He also inserted a
mirena
to help with my periods as other methods such as the pill have not worked in the past. Although the doctor said he removed it he doesn't think that this is the only thing causing all my pain so I'm going for further tests.

Hi, I have had the
mirena

Advice on Heavy Periods
My consultant has recommended the
mirena
coil to try to control my periods, but I am worried that I will go back down the mood swing etc. route. I really don't want this and so it's putting me off having one fitted.

What should I make of this? Has anyone got pregnant with similar issues? Worried/anxious/ will I ever have my own baby.letter from Doc.
To prevent future adhesions, I left a
mirena
coil insitu. This will be removed in the future. The laparoscopy showed pouch of douglas, endometriosis and right ovarian cyst of 5x5cm and the left ovarian cyst and right para-tubal cyst.

Norethisterone and Coil
I had the
mirena
fitted at the end of March and I've been told by the gyne to continue to take norethisterone for a couple of months to allow the coil to settle down.

Mirena or no mirena? Endometriosis and symptoms
My periods are lighter than they were post op, but I can't work out if this is due to the
mirena
or because I had my ovary and most of the endo including a very large chocolate cyst removed. 5 months since having the
mirena
coil, I am now considering trying life without it.

Possible return of endometriosis
However, up until now with the use of a
Mirena
coil and more recently an implant I have had no bleeding or sign of a period whatsoever. However, 3 weeks ago I developed pain on my right side with abdominal bloating and swelling.

Superficial stage 3 endo
Have had lots of
Mirena
side effects but that's another discussion. How can something that's called superficial cause so much pain?? I think the medical term for this is misleading. Keen to hear all your thoughts!

Mirena Coil side effects
Has any one experienced side effects such as joint pain from having a
mirena
coil fitted ? I had mine fitted on the 28.03.17 to help with Endo. but about a week after I started to experience hip pain and general joint pain, I feel like an old woman.
