so i had the mirena coil in for 5 years, i had my last period march the 6th. i had the coil removed march 30th. the night before me and my husband had sex, and then again twice a few days later. i had no pains or bleeding straight after removal, but 2 days later i spotted for a little bit in the day. since then ive felt like ive had pregnancy symptoms , feeling sick ALOT, tired and really sore boobs. i tested 5 days after we had sex and came back negative. i was due on my period april 6th but still havent come on. i do know having the mirena removed can cause late periods etc. has this happened to anyone else? should i test again at the weekend?

If you weren't planning to be pregnant and you weren't covered by any other contraception, whomever removed the coil should have advised you to abstain from unprotected sex 7 days before the coil removal. This is because sperm can survive for up to 7 days in the womb, and whilst removed the coil sperm and semen from previous sex could in theory be pushed further up into your ready to fertilise an egg. A pregnancy test is only accurate 3 weeks after last sex or when a period is later, lighter, shorter or doesn't come at all. It sounds like you tested too early the first time, but as you are now late, re-test and take it from there.
