Laporscopy & hysteroscopy
How everyone, I'm due to have a laporscopy & hysteroscopy next week to see the extent of my endo. Also asked if I want the mirena fitted at the same time. I'm really nervous as first op for me & I can't decide on mirena. Can anyone give me advice, does mirena really help with heavy periods & pain?

Mirena Coil - Bloating
Hello Everyone, Just looking for some support/advice about the mirena. I had one put in 7 weeks ago now and have had the odd pains but nothing I can't handle (amazing what pain you can manage after years of endo haha) my biggest side effect is bloating!! Has anyone else had this side effect and if so

Mirena coil and endo
Hey girls . I had the mirena coil fitted today . Was a bit uncomfortable but apparently it will help slow down the growth of the endo. Yet I read a possible side effect is ovarian cysts which I have only just managed to get rid of through laparoscopy 😞 Is there anyway I can avoid ovarian cysts from

Treatment post laparoscopy... not contraception though.
Hello, I'm probably going to be posting on here a fair bit! My gynaecologist suggested that I have a mirena coil fitted during my laparoscopy. I am really cautious of contraception because I have tried so so many types and all have had negative side effects. The last I had was the copper coil as

Contraception question for ladies...
Hi everyone Well I haven't exactly been swinging from the chandeliers this last year and a half since "it" began. And I guess it's a sign that I'm feeling a bit better that I'm even starting to get round to prioritising something other than surviving again! 😀 I hope people don't mind me asking but is

Bleeding after mirena removal (ttc)
So I had my mirena coil taken out last Monday after having it in for only 5 months (didn't sit well with me and also to start ttc) and I have been bleeding really heavy with clots for the last week with no signs of it slowing down anytime soon. Has anyone else had similar experience after mirena removal

Pain because of the coil
I have had the mirena coil in now for 5 weeks, I have been in pain and on my period for the whole time. It started to lighten a bit but the past week I have been heavily bleeding and for the past 4 days I've woken up crying because of the cramps and getting so frustrated. I have a 6 week check up this

First gyno appointment.
Hi there :). I have my first gynocologist appointment in a week and am not sure what to expect. My gp has referred me as she suspects i could have endometriosis. I have had the mirena coil inserted couple of weeks ago (tmi warning) but have been bleeding nearly a week and its pretty heavy. Seems to slow

Guidance please
Hello Ladies My name is Lisa and I have been struggling with Endometriosis a number of years now. I am diagnosed as stage IV. I have had a BSO in 2012 and several other ops since then. Unable to have a full hysterectomy as it's too risky I am told and could lead to bowel injury. I still have bleeding

Stuck on what to do....
I was admitted into hospital 3 weeks ago as I had awful lower abdominal pain and they thought it could be appendicitis after tests and scans I had the all clear with that but they found an ovarian cyst. I have suffered from endometriosis and 3 years ago had a lap and they said they had sorted this and

Success in treating Endo with Mirena coil alone?
Hi everyone, I was wondering how successful the mirena or other hormone coils are in treating Endo. I'm nearly 19 and have had troublesome periods for about 6/7yrs. Everything from 4months of bleeding, to nothing for 6months, to extremely heavy bleeding, to extreme pain, to 2weeks on, 2weeks off - its

HRT post hysterectomy
I'm sure this has been posted before. I'm at the end of a long road of treatments and I'm at the point of thinking hysterectomy. I have endo stage 5 bowel and lower abdo. My consultant has said in the past hysterectomy with bowel involvement which I have always put off. I'm having terrible side effects

Hi, I had the mirena coil inserted today and found the insertion of the speculum excrutiatingly painful. Combined pill
Hi. But dilemma. Am 44. Have endo AND adenomyosis. Surgeon trying to persuade me to have MIRENA or Provera (progesterone only pill but this isn't a contraceptive ). Very blessed to have 1 child (5 year old girl). Unlikely I can have more due to adenomyosis but feel too old now to have another anyway

Post Lap Pain
Hi everyone, just a quick question about the mirena coil - had it fitted last Wednesday (02/08) during my lap but I've had nothing but pain ever since. Bleeding has been okay, there hasn't been very much at all but I've had constant, horrendous period pain that gets especially bad when moving around/

Mirena Coil Questions
Hi, I had the Mirena Coil fitted a week ago and I'm just wondering if everything is normal. I've experienced a bit of bleeding but nothing too heavy and some cramps but nothing excruciating. I've also experienced some discharge but have heard this is all normal. My main concern is that I cannot seem

Confused and still sore after laparoscopy
Hi everyone, This is my first post and am really just hoping that someone else has had a similar experience to me (partly so I know I'm not going crazy!) Since I was about 15 I've had irregular heavy periods, pelvic and abdominal pain. As I got older I then also started having pain and blood with bowel
