Laporscopy & hysteroscopy

How everyone,

I'm due to have a laporscopy & hysteroscopy next week to see the extent of my endo. Also asked if I want the mirena fitted at the same time. I'm really nervous as first op for me & I can't decide on mirena. Can anyone give me advice, does mirena really help with heavy periods & pain?

Thanks

It stopped my periods altogether after 5 weeks of heavy bleeding. But it doesn't work for everyone and you will find plenty of bad experiences too. I did find it uncomfortable and it caused mild pelvic pain, but probably only due to having surgical endo treatment in the area where it sat at the same time as insertion and being tender to start with.

It's the treatment that came closest to working for me so I would say give it a go. Like all hormone treatment you need to commit to a fair trial usually for at least 3 months. Removal is extremely easy at the GP if it doesn't suit you.

Hope this helps.
